    flat footed?

    does being flat footed enable one to transfer more energy to the ground than someone with arched feet, talking mainly in the squat and deadlift.

    No, Pes Planus is an adaption associated with muscular inbalances and weakness. The greater surface area of contact focalizes the body weight over areas that were not designed to diffuse the weight of the individual plus resistance. Flat feet, or pes planus is correctable, best at a young age, through various rehabiliation/neuromuscular training programs.

    Don't shoot for flat feet, its not a good thing It can lead to future foot injuries that are painful, mortons toe/foot, bunions, hallux valgus, et cetera.
