    squats & bench

    Am I doing too many sets for squats and bench
    in my workout?

    Squats: 185 x 10
    225 x 10
    275 x 6
    315 x 6
    225 x 10
    225 x 10
    135 x 10 full squat w/ calf raises
    135 x 10 full squat w/ calf raises

    Bench: 185 x 10
    225 x 10
    275 x 6
    315 x 6
    225 x 7 w/ 2sec. pause
    225 x 7 w/ 2sec. pause
    135 to failure
    135 to failure

    looks like your doing an aweful lot. Post your whole routine so we can get a better grasp on your training

    I think you need to work on those legs, bro. Benching the same as you squat... tuttut


    lol. Yeah, like Adam said, post your entire routine. Honestly, if that's all you do for chest and legs, I'd say it's probably fine, since the number of actual work sets is not that high.

    Monday:
    Legs
    Squats
    Full squats w/ calf raises
    Leg press
    Leg extensions
    Leg curl
    Calf raises
    (everyother week)
    add abductor/adductor

    Tuesday:
    Chest
    Bench press or if it's crowded dumbbell press
    75 x 10, 85 x 10, 95 x 8, 100 x 6, 100 x 6
    Inclines
    Chest press in sitting position
    Pecdeck or flat bench flies

    Wednesday:
    Arms
    Tricep pull downs with "V" bar
    Tricep pull downs with rope
    Tricep pull downs with single hand bar
    Close grip tricep press on flat bench
    Standing arm curls with EZcurl bar
    Hammer curls
    Concentration curls
    (everyother week)
    add reverse/close grip pull up and dips 1rep/3sets

    Thursday:
    Shoulders, back, traps
    Behind the neck militar press
    Lateral raises
    Lat pull downs
    seated rows
    shrugs

    Friday:
    Legs

    Saturday & Sunday are family day. No workouts.

    I also do 20 minutes of cardio before starting
    my workout.

    I know I could go higher on both my squats and
    bench, but since I work out by myself I don't
    have spotters. The gym I go to is pretty limited,
    both with weights, members and staff. I've tried
    to talk with some of my buddys, but they're not
    as interested in working out as I am.

    I think if I do my squats on the Smith machine
    I'll go heavier since it has the safty hooks.

    I'd like to add lundges and deadlifts to my leg
    workout.

    That is quite abit of working out that you are doing. You might be overtraining some there. You have many exercise that work the same muscle groups over and over. I would cut it down some. But if it works for you...

    Belial is right u should be squattin ALOT more I maxed out at 325 on bench the other day and I squat 425 for 8 (On a smith machine for the squat I am a little pussy bitch with nobody to work out with on leg day) HIT THEM LEGS!!!!!!!!! The upper body is nothing without something to carry it around on
