    8/14/08: ME Bench

    8/14/08: ME Bench

Talked to John and decided it was time for some volume, so I worked up some doubles in the shirt, first time in the shirt since the meet.....

    Shirt Bench:
    add inzer super phenom
all reps done to a 2board
    315x2
    405x2
    455x2
    495x2 - PR! think my heaviest double to a 2board was 475
515x1 - went for a double, missed second, still though, pretty good being pre-exhausted, PR single is 525....

    Flat DB Tricep Ext:
    add mini looped around back
    35'sx10
    45'sx10x2sets
    45'sx12

Band Pushups (Band wrapped around back):
    bw+purplex15x2sets

    add metal viking briefs
    235x3
    325x2
    add belt
    415x2
    505x2
    add knee wraps
    555x1 easy, flat or breaking
605x2 - first rep 1-1.5"above, 2nd at least flat PR! Came up strong, probably had a third in me

    Arch Back Good Mornings:
holy cow these hurt that trigger point in my back, and weak as hell in them, need to work these up big time.
    145x5
    235x3
    195x8x2sets

    GHR:
    bwx8
    bw+minix8x2sets

    Lat Pulldown absx3sets

Had a good talk with Chris Taylor tonight. After this last meet I have some renewed confidence in my strength. I need to keep this momentum going into the next meet and have faith. I've been lucky enough to have been blessed with strength and a great team to back me, now I need to buckle down and really go to work. CT thinks I should take a 600 bench just to try it and start getting used to the weight. I really need to do stuff like this with everything. No better time to start then now. God Bless.

    Backward Sled Dragging using Straps:

    Forward Sled Dragging From Belt:
    1plate+25x200ftx8sets

    Machine Preacher Curls:
    plate+25x10
    2platesx10
    2platesx12

    DB Hammer Curls:
    50'sx7x2sets

Conditioning is getting much better. Feels good after a good squat session, lower back in cranked from those good mornings, but you don't get any stronger doing what you're good at, so those are staying in for awhile. Decided to through some biceps in there too because I never really get around to doing them and I don't want any elbow pain this training cycle.

    God Bless.

    ME Squat: 8/22/08

    Squats:
all sets done w/ choked blue bands (supposed to be greens, but we didn't have any and I left mine at work, so blues it is...)
add metal viking briefs (lost some weight and these are kind of loose in the hips now, might need to get them pinched a little...)

    barx3
    145x3
    235x2
    add belt
    325x1
after this all my sets were at or close to parallel
    415x1
    455x1
    add knee wraps
505x1 - calling this a PR, I've done this b4, but it was high, now that it's at depth it's officially a PR, cheesy I know but I'll take what I can get.
555xmiss, unracked it strong, bar not centered on my back felt it helicoptering a little and one side actually felt heavier then the other, and with the way my back's been didn't want to take it. Re-racked and tried again but I was spent, Chris Taylor would probably call me gay right now......

    Arch Back Good Mornings:
    205x8

    GHR:
    choked minix8x3sets

    Abs on GHR:
    purplex10x3sets
    purplex14

Need to sit back more in the briefs, don't feel like there's much support, so maybe getting them pinched is the answer, I don't know, we'll see.....

And I lost another race to Chris Rodgers!!!!!!!! Freakin' little guy's fast off the line. Didn't beat me by much though. Just wait Rodgers, I'm coming for ya.
    God Bless.

    130'sx8 - rep PR
    130'sx7
    130'sx6

    95x8
    95x12
95x14 - kills your tri's, I like it, keeping this for a couple of weeks

    Nice lifting buddy.

Maybe instead of that upright bike, you should have practiced some sprints in the parking lot. I'm getting tired of smoking you.
