Jesse Marunde was a huge advocate of these and there is a current challenge over on the t-nation board for 20 rep squats. Have seen a lot of people doing them lately and decided to give it a go last night. Hit 365x20 in just a belt and TK sleeves at about 212 lbs bodyweight.
Anyone else out there who is using these as a regular part of their training program?
There was another LW strongman Adrian Gault who did close to a 300 lbs front squat x 20 beltless (but he did wear glasses).
Legs are sore today for the first time in a long time so figured that I would put this out there... might be something good to toss in every once in a while to shock your system. Time to go drink some more Maximus shakes
I've started hitting light (relatively) 20 rep sets after my lower body days. It's more for conditioning than anything, but I like that I'm forcing my body to squat even when I've already fatigued the muscles I need to squat.
And yes, I did my 20 reppers this week in honor of Jesse, 1 year to date, RIP.

I can hit 405 for twenty at 242 no problem.. but then again I've done that for awhile. I HATE squatting..all I do is high rep stuff for traditional squatting and then alot of front squats. 365 for 20 is no joke.. I have to belt and wrap up or my knees kill me for a good week. My current goal is 315 for 20 on front squats. In honor of jesse... I'll do my 20 rep 315 fronts tomorrow on a box for depth proof. HEre's to one of the best!

I did these awhile ago....like 15yrs LOL! They are KILLERS!!!!!! Be prepared to pass out. Great program for anyone who wants to kick-up their game abit.

I did 315 x 16 raw a year ago. Might be good for 20 now although I'm not going to try it. That's how I messed up my back last time.
I did 225x15 atg a fews ago, I couldnt walk for a good 3 days.

I do sets of 15-20 on deload weeks. I'm going to try and hit 405+ for 20 tonight.

Just hit 315 for 20 raw oly squats tonight with Ben. As stated in my log, I feel like a man, a queasy stomached, jello legged man.

Nice work Reko... Ben - 405 would be awesome, seems like that is the breaking point for most people.
They should add this in at the Arnold like how they had the bench 315 or 405 for max reps.

I tried it with 425 and just did not have it yesterday. 425x10 oly squats. I have them on video and you can tell my head just wasn't in it.
i cant even fathom 315 for more than 5 or so. you guys are sick... and I like it!!
I have said this before, but I believe the NFL Combine should do a 315 squat for reps like they do a 225 bench for reps, especially for the lineman. Would have to space that out from the running though!

When doing 20 reppers should a lifter wear a belt or not? I've noticed that some people do and some don't.
20 rep squats are killer and are great for quad development. I think I may throw in some light ATG 20 reppers at the end of my DE day
