The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Shirt help?

Hey guys I'm new so please be gentle. Due to a few issues, I don't exactly fit into my dbl ply Rage X. I just ordered a dbl ply w/1" scoop neck phenom. I'm honestly not sure what I just got myself into but I'm down with trying new things. From some of the ppl I've talked to they have said great things about this shirt. Has anyone gone between these 2 shirts? What's the pros and cons of the phenom or what should I possible expect out of this shirt? My groove is a little on the high side when I bench will this make a big difference?
Thanks guys for being patient w/ me...

ps: what's this i hear about twisting your shirt sleeves for a stronger lockout?

I only tried the Rage-X. I believe the phenom you can touch anywhere you like. If your technique is good you should at least be getting around 150+. I think you mixed up the shirts, there's a super duper phenom shirt everyone have been talking about. It's a lot better shirt then the regular phenom.

Well, the groove is a little wider in the type of Phenom you ordered compared to a Rage X, but I've found that if you try and touch a little lower, it does seem to have more pop in it.

The shirt will probably seem crazy tight when you get it, but take a few weeks to break it in. In the end you'll find you can touch weights a ton easier. I wouldn't twist the sleeves though. Not now at least. It'll cause them to stretch out alot faster

That's great. I can't wait to get it. Yes Tank, it's the super duper deal sorry bout the confusion. Yeah I'll try touching a little lower. This should work out then. I'm going down to Jessies SPF meet Oct 4th in Gatlingburg TN.
    Thanks guys

Ah! Well that will make a little difference. There is a huge difference between just a regular double ply Phenom and the Super Duper Phenom. Don't get me wrong, you got the right shirt for sure! Just take your time breaking it in and it'll pay huge dividends in the long run. It'll last alot longer and you'll get more pop out of it. Start with a 3 and 4 board

    ..

Yeah I wouln't be too hard to miss @ the meet. Hopefully I'll be able to wear my prosthetic leg by then! I'll let ya know how it goes after I work out in it. But I like the idea of working with a 4 or 3 board...

LOL I have a meet in October as well I thought Lones was talking to me haha.

Yeah the first week or two don't go any lower than a 3brd. Also, you'll feel like you'll be able to do 800lbs (or whatever is really heavy for you) but don't take it to an absolute max. Do doubles or whatever, just focus on stretching out the gear slowly. Then take it down to a 2brd and go for the single. After that, do what you normally do. Some will need to use a half board before touching because that collar will really hit at about the 1brd range so it'll take a little getting used to

    lol

Hmm I'm not really sure who he was talking to either.... Which meet are you doing in Oct Travis? I wish 800 was a heavy day for me. I'm just a short fat chick that's wishing to hit 400 by the end of 2009. I'm stuck with 355 off a 3board and 330 touching Right now I'm benching with just my upper body. I have no leg drive due to the fact I can't wear a prosthetic leg yet so pushing off 1 leg is only going to throw me off ballance.
