The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I've heard from a friend at the gym that it isn't a good idea for bodybuilders to run long distances, but instead to just do speed walks, or do interval training. (Walk for a certain amount of time and than spring for a certain amount of time, etc.)

The reasoning for this is that running long distances constantly tears the muscle fibers in your legs and doesn't allow to get bigger, but instead just depletes them and makes your legs smaller.

What type of cardio does everyone do?

I jog till I sweat... then I bump it down to a speed walk for about 30-35 minutes.

    Hi MA

you need to be careful not to do too much cardio. I have been doing too much recently, 60-80mins per session, so have been advised to cut this down to 45mins max on non training days. It also depends on what your goals are. On resistance days I do 5-10mins warm up and the same for a cooldown.

    Hope this helps
