Thanks Brian. I train mostly raw, but I compete in gear so I'll cycle in some shirt work and briefs/suit the closer I get to a meet.

I think I started right after my first meet, so I would say probably for about 9 months now.

    Wednesday 4/1 - Deadlift/Upper Back Assistance

    Deficit Sumo Deads (2" platform)
    135 x 5
    225 x 5
    315 x 5
    405 x 5
    500 x 2
    520 x 1 (+20lb PR)

    DB Rows
    100's x 10
    120's x 10
    140's x 8 (grip was shot)

    HS Chest Supported Row
    180 x 10 x 3 sets

    Reverse Pec Deck
    4 sets of 10

Done. Granted I haven't been doing deficit deads long, but a 20lb PR is nice. I forgot about my hip injury while I was pulling, but I'm paying for it now. I really need to start pulling in briefs until this heals up.

Thanks Lones. I'm thinking about getting some loose Pro briefs or something b/c I can't keep pulling raw sumo, and my Ace's won't let me get down to the bar and get into the right position.

Good call, I hate pulling sumo raw but I hate pulling conventional with briefs. If you just want the hip protection and not too much pop you might try the Frantz briefs. They'd be a lot cheaper

I checked out those Frantz briefs, thanks. I'll probably end up going with those or some Titan Dual Quads; unless Elite has another 25% off METAL gear sale this week.

I've never used em, but the guys from Cell Block usually get 3 ply front 2 ply back. They use them just for junk briefs.

    365 x 6
    365 x 3

Opening Day tonight. I've been waiting 6 months for this. Woot!

You caught me, I honestly have no clue. I heard some guy doing knee bends on the leg press screaming "God my quads are on fire!"... So I wanted mine to be on fire too... whatever they are.

I haven't had time to look in on your journal in a couple of days. You are getting some nice lifts in. I have not tried deficite deads yet, I guess I am reluctant to make things harder than they already are . When are you planning on competing next?

I would give the deficit deads a try, they've really helped with my strength and speed off the floor; I usually go with 2" and 4" deficits. My next meet will probably be the APF/AAPF Summer Bash here in the Chicagoland area.

    Wednesday 4/8 - Deadlift/Upper Back Assistance

Conventional Deficit Deads (off 4" platform, no belt)
    135 x 5
    225 x 5
    315 x 5
    405 x 3
    455 x 2
    500 x 1
    520 x 1 (+65lb PR )

    Chins
    BW x 10
    BW x 8
    BW x 6
    BW x 5
    BW x 5

    Face Pulls
    4 sets of 12

Decline Situps (w/ 25lb plate at forehead)
    2 sets of 12

Done. The PR is a little deceiving b/c the last time I pulled conventional from a 4" deficit was back on 10/29, but a PR nonetheless. Forgot my belt today, but I really prefer pulling conventional without it anyway.
