    I need a press movement!

Heres my routine. Benching heavy 5x5 twice a week isn't best for me. I'm thinking of changing the rep range or maybe just swap in a different press movement on fridays. Heres what the routine looks like. Please give me your suggestions.

    Mon - Squat 3x5, Bench 5x5, Row 5x5
    Wed - Military 5x5, Deadlift 5x5
Fri - Squat 3x5, (press movement), Chins 5x5

You want us to list all the press options that could be there? Just pick one. You get the idea.

I already do military press (feet together, no leg drive).

I suggest sticking to the routine as it has been laid out. Rippetoe knows what he is talking about. Benching 2x per week for 10 sets isn't too much volume for anyone.

Squatting 3x5 while deadlifting 5x5 seems a little odd. So does pressing 5x5 heavy three times per week. Go for push press with your military press weight or a lower bench weight. Or just cut the reps.

Could do incline/decline bench on Fridays for a change of pace.

    Trying not to die young.
