from what i read, this is the way to go for a newbie. i have descided to take all the advice you have given me and give it a shot.
just to make sure im on the right page though.
i do need to add weight every lifting session?
powercleans and the deadlift scare the crap out of me for some reason, but both are needed for improvement?
how do i avoid ahernia?
short term goal: 200
Long term goal: Lean 225
Work uo slowly on the DL.
For the power clean: Try BO Rows or Pendlay Rows and just work on form w/ the cleans until you feel comfy
If you've never lifted before it would probably be prudent to focus on learning the other lifts before learning the power clean. Substitute it with chins/pull-ups for now, and do hyperextensions or something.
