    I'd like to know where I stand (150lbs)

    Just for reference, were are the lite guys in terms of power? Bench/Squat. And is there a database for this type of info...

    For reference, Im right at 150lbs- Max 285 raw Bench. I have not attempted a Max squat, but rep out 275 on the smith machine.

    YOur basicly in the 148 class. the best are benching over 400, squating over 500 and dealifting over 600

    brian schwab benched 600 at that weightclass didnt he? or was that in the 165?

    If ColtBoostin is new to weight training I am sure that he is not going to be wearing a bench shirt or squat suit - so I would suggest looking at Raw powerlifting numbers if you want to find something to strive for.

    Generally speaking it is considered good to bench 1.5X bodyweight (225 lbs) and squat/deadlift 2X bodyweight with good form (300 lbs). To take it to the next level and be considered very strong for your weight you would be talking about 2X bodyweight bench (300 lbs) and 3X bodyweight squat/deadlift (450 lbs). These are just gym figures that are thrown out there - but if you can bench double bodyweight raw then you are definitely strong and anything 2.5-3X bodyweight and up on the other lifts is very good.

    The top level 148s are benching over 400 raw. I believe the record is 430+ if I'm not mistaken. Brian Schwab has benched 600, but it was in a shirt so that probably isn't the best point of reference.

    raw 148 squats are in the 500+ range

    I think Schwab only benched that @165. Joe Ceslovsky has benched 600@148. Straight nasty!


    Just remember that there is always someone stronger out there and in most cases, there are many guys stronger out there. Just keep training hard and be consistent and you will close the gap between average and Freak!

    That's some crazy ass benching! Makes mine seem pitiful - which it is! Wonder what these guys chests actually look like at 150lbs lol.

    yeah, those 148ers putting up over 400 raw are probably short and have bigger arms than legs. But hey, maybe I'm wrong... they could have Arnold chests.

    Yeah, the record is 430+ but most feds have national marks much lower than that...

    hmm... this seems strange this record hasn't been broken. I could do 280 at 145 in high school without a bounce. And I don't exactly have a short ROM.

    But seriously, 285 is a big bench for 150lbs. Now go gain some weight.

    Yes, I have never used a shirt/suit. Hell I dont even think I have ever seen one! Thats great info though- thanks! I dont feel so back now.


    And yes, I do need to get off the smith machine. A lot of good info here!
