The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Powerlifting meet in 2 weeks... how to prepare?

I just found out there's a powerlift meet at my school in 2 weeks and I want to enter for the hell of it.

I'm currently on Mason's bench 30 pounds in 30 days routine and it's going well.

Should I just stick to my routine or change it up to focus more on sq, dl, and bench? Is it better to give it a full day of rest before the meet or should I try a 1RM for each lift before the meet?

Also, the meet is at 8 in the morning... what should I eat and how should I prep for it on the day of?

...you should probably take a week off before the meet. why would you go for a 1RM BEFORE the meet? thats only going to zap your energy, and make your lifts weaker during the meet.

i probably wouldn't change anything this close to the meet either - as long as you're squatting, deadlifting, AND benching, and doing assistance for those lifts keep on doing what you're doing. maybe think about changing your routine up after the meet. i'm not sure what mason's program is.

eat high carbs, take food with you. mashed up sweet potatoes, gatorade, PB & j sandwiches, bananas, etc etc

Your openers should be a weight that you can do @ least three times. Also, take the week off before the meet!
