The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Zen, they're $75 each if both are bought.

zen, are you sure theres not any available for free or cheaper around your area? before i even worked for my tire shop employer he gave me a (used, but mountable) $750 tire for free, just because he has about 50 in his junk tire pile. you might try lookin around for one if you want to save a few bucks.

well, to be honest, i dont know about anywhere else. but i live in a town of 1500... and he's got probably 50 new tractor tires, and then 50 used ones he throws in the junkpile to get hauled away. BUT - he gets business from about 1/5 of the state, because there's not many people who do tractor tires anymore. and idk if farming is a big thing where you live. if it is, you shouldnt have much trouble. maybe go to your local auto parts store and ask for the nearest tire shop that also works w/ tractors and give them a ring-ding.

I told you that in the other thread, lol.

Check commercial Goodyear or Firestone places. They have to pay a fee to have the junk ones hauled off. You'll have to go in and talk to them. Most will not tell you anything on the phone or understand why you want it unless you're there in person to explain it to them. Then they'll think you're part crazy and part cool and give you anything you want.

ben, thats true lol. i just meant call to see if they had junk ones available, not try to score one over the phone.

my guy kinda looked at me at first like 'whats a 17 year old kid want a 200lb (or howver much they weigh) tractor tire for?'

    'to flip!'

he kinda just gave me a blank stare and said WHAT?! and we talked bout it and we loaded it in the truck. also helps that my tire guy is a freakin pimp tho.

Good advice. Go to a couple of shops, they will usually sell you used tires for $20 or so. The little privately owned ones are your best bet, the franchises have senseless corporate rules that will give you problems unless you know the manager.

I'm in the market for some 235/85/16 tires. I like the revos but they cost $180 per tire which is way too much.

This is a useless quote that means nothing but yet defines me as a profound intellect.

I tried to get a tire from the used pile at one of my local places, and they told me state law says they can't do it. Each and every tire has to be accounted for due to EPA regulations.

Then, he told me he wouldn't look if "one was stolen."

So I went out back to steal one, and it was in this giant bin with 10ft walls.

    So...I didn't get a tire there.

We've gotten tires in the 400, 500, 600, 800 and 1000lb range from our Goodyear dealer here in KC. They don't like for us to tell anyone to come there for this purpose but have no problem letting us get tires.
