Home for the holidays... Muscle loss?

Well like many college students I am heading home for the holidays. One question has been plaguing my mind how much muscle am I going to lose being gone for around 1 month. I plan to try and go to the gym in my hometown but they charge 12$ a day something I cant really afford on a student budget/plus I really want to spend sometime with my family.

Im still taking my creatine, muscle milk and glut amine everyday.

you might be able to maintain yourself by doing BW or free exercizes. stuff like core work, hamstring stuff, single leg squats, sled pulling (its cold, but how bad do you want it?), pullups, pushups, etc. keep eating also. doing that stuff regularly should at least keep you close to where you are.

I think the best idea is to sign up for a month if it's cheap.

I'd call some of the local clubs and explain the situation and see what they can do for you.

I travel for work every couple of months and will stay in the location for up to a week or so. When i do, i look up clubs at the location i'm going and call and just let them know i'm only going to be in town for a week. I've gotten some decent deals for the week.

Id just talk to the manager of the gym and see if you can get a 1 month membership. Maybe they dont usually offer it, but you can work something out?

If going to a gyms completely out the question id say just go with the bodyweight excercises. Not going to be near as good as free weights, but should keep you from losing muscle. The ones listed above plus maybe wall sits.

Get trial memberships (usually a week) at various gyms and just go gym to gym to get the trial and don't buy their real membership. Did that for a month and a half.

Don't know how it is in the States but in the UK I've managed to get a friend of mine in to the gym for 6 weeks straight just by talking to the staff. If not, I'm sure you'll find some credit crunch beating prices somewhere!

Try just walking into the gym. Do not make eye contact with anyone, just walk right in. I did this at a gym for a few times, but eventually got caught when I went with a couple friends.

    Or do what Reko said
