    Gaining Lean Mass at 40

I am looking for a good routine. I am 40 years old and carry about 12% BF on a 6ft 185 lb frame. So being that I am in good shape an not really willing to go through cut and bulk cycles I know my gains may be slow if I do so while trying to remain lean. However I was hoping on of you guys could point me towards a few routines. My gains will be mostly base on my diet but I need a solid routine. I have access to lift 7 days a week. Thanks for any ideas.

No.. Not remotely. Last 7 years consistently 3 times a week. (give or take depending on life)

I am looking into some Waterbury stuff.

Personally, my body responded really well to a Westside style 4 day split (with dynamic and max effort days). Granted, I'm half your age, but I think that if you've been lifting for a while this would be a good way to shake things up in a way that you should respond positively to.

    What, exactly, is your history?

When is the last time you seriously lifted?

I would begin Starting Strength and ride those gains until they stop.

I just wrapped up 3 months of starting strength this fall. The moved into HST for 12 weeks. I last seriously lift?....yesterday from 8am to about 9:30am.

History - Typical - Skinny college kid. Got fat thanks to beer and pizza. Lost it by lifting and eating right. Been lifting for 7 year now. I am very fitness minded and have a full arsenal of routines. Just wondering what gets suggested around here.

I don't understand. If you've lifted for 7 years, why are you asking people you don't know for routines?? Are you looking for something particular or something?

If you stopped making gains on SS then move to Texas Method. If not- back to SS.

Everyone has favorites and every forum has certain routines they pimp. Just seeing what the mindset is here. Don't overthink it.
Thanks anyway. I will start TBT.
