I have been training! I'll try to get caught up on the past couple or workouts tomorrow. Nothing crazy since it's still early in 5/3/1. Get to do some modertaly heavy deads tomorrow. Looking forward to that.

Did my share of eating this weekend. Weight was 191 today. That is I think 1 shy of my all time high. Time to push forward. Up to 4 super high carb days (and 3 moderate carb days), so we'll see how my body and strength responds to all these carbs.

    Squats week 1:
    Squats: 195*5, 225*5, 255*6

    Preacher Curls:: 90*12, 90*10, 80*10, 70*10, 60*15

    Lunges: didn't write it down.

    OH Press Week 2:
    OH Press: 90*3, 105*3, 115*12

    DB Bench: 100*10, 95*140, 90*8, 85*11, 80*10

    Cybex Pulldown: 210*12, 10

    Extensions: 55*15, 15, 12

    Deads week 2:
    Deads: 255*3, 290*3, 330*6

Back Extensions: 5 sets, a bunch reps with weight.
->we set the pads real low so we got a stretch in the hams at the bottom.

Leg Extensions: 5 sets. 15-20 reps per set

    Bench Week 2:
    Bench: 180*3, 190*3, 210*13
    ->felt strong here

    Incline: 155*12, 10, 145*13, 12, 10

Pushdowns: I think 3 sets for about 20-30 reps each.

Notes: These were all last week. Going to do squats tomorrow and OH press on Sunday since I start a new semester next week and I have class on Monday.

Starting the year at 189-193. Pigged out today. Pizza, bagels, burger/fries, soda, chicken sandwich, and mac n cheese. Got it out of my system. Back to work tomrorow.

Terry: Thank man. Happy New Years to you too.

    Squats Week 2:
    Squats: 245*3, 260*3, 275*6
    ->felt good. Depth was good.

    Seated Ham Curls: 130*15, 130*14, 130*11, 130*10, 130*8

    Hammers Curls: 40*12, 40*12, 40*10, 35*10, 35*10

    Leg Press: 4pps*18 ,15, 12

Notes: I spent about 6 hours in the hospital last night with headaches. Last week after my deads workout I came home and got blurred vision, balance issues, and very very intense headaches. After this squat workout I had the same thing happen. After laying in the dark for about 2 hours I finally called my dad and he urged me to go to the ER. They did some blood work and a cat scan. Said it was tension headaches. I took it easy all day today. I will email my physician tomorrow to see if he wants me to see a specialist or tough it out.

    Joey: Thanks man.

    Deads Week 3: 295*1, 315*1, 345*6

Seated Calf and Rope Curls: few sets of each.

Notes: Weight down to 187. Stress is out of control right now. Walked out of the office dizzy again tonight. Just can't get it under control. Went to dinner for my mom's bday then did a quick session. I'll probably keep the accessory work to a minimum until I get my head back under control to keep the headaches down.

Terry: Me too man. Had a headache all of yesterday. Have another slight one today.

    Bench: 205*5, 215*3, 225*9
->My buddy Ben said this was the strongest he has ever seen me on bench.

    Incline BB: 165*12, 175*10, 175*10
->much stronger here than past 2 weeks.

    Iso Rows: 1ps+35*15, 2+15*15, 2+25*15

    BB Skull Crushers: 60*15, 12, 10

Notes: Pretty good workout. This amount of accessory lifts didn't seem to bug my head too much and still managed a decent pump. Squats shortly.

Damn man that's some scary stuff with the headaches. My sister used to get them just like that, after a cat scan and countless other tests they never really did figure out what was causing it.

Invain: Luckily nothing too intense this week. Trying to take it easy and keep them away.

    Terry: Thanks man.

    Squat Week 3:
    Squat: 2605*5, 275*3, 290*4
->not great, but got deep enough

    GMs: 135*12, 155*12, 165*2
->hammy starting bugging me on 3rd set, so slid to next

    Back Extensions: +25*12, +25*12

    Hammers: 40*14, 40*12, 40*8

    Leg Extensions: 150*15, 150*12
->with hammy feeling tweaked I didn't want to push my luck with hacks

    OH Press Week 4:
    OH Press: 85*5, 95*5, 95*5
->my math was wrong...not supposed to be this heavy

    Dips: +45*20, 12, 12

    Cybex Pulldown: 105*12, 15, 15

NOtes: Weight is 189. Started deload week. Gym was freaking packed tonight. Never seen anything like this. 2 or 3 deep on every station. I was in and out. I didn't eat great this weekend. I missed some meals due to sleeping too much. I needed the sleep. Feel much fresher today.

Terry - looking forward to getting back to 3 wheels per side.

Joey - got a text from him. Saw he updated on his FB page.

Behemoth.- these are barbell. Light due to a deload week.

Notes - deload continues. Did deads and bench. Squats tonight. This deload stuff is boring.

OH Press Week 1, round 2:
    OH press: 95*5, 95*5, 110*15
->I forgot to run my spreadsheet for the new round and see where I should be. I was actually right, except the 2nd set should have been 105. Wasn't sure, so I left it at 95.

    DB Bench: 105*8, 100*8, 90*8, 80*12
->not my best effort here, but decent. Probably should have stuck at 100's for the first set.

    Cybex Pulldowns: 220*14, 10, 210*10
->first felt great. Pretty heavy. Nice amount of reps. Doing this w/o straps. Probably losing a rep or two, but figure my grip needs some work too. Should help a tad.

    Pushdowns: 130*12, stack(150)*15, stack+5*12
->will need to use a different machine next time.

Notes: So glad deload week is over. That **** bored me. Not sure I like this deload stuff as a lifter more geared to hypertrophy. I'll keep giving it a shot. As long as I'm getting stronger that is the main thing.

The wendler Ebook doesn't do a good job describing how to tweak your weight for each cycle. I think it says to add 5-10lbs per lift per cycle(with less being better). I planned on adding 5lbs to each of my lifts. Bench and OH press I still feel like I will easily be in the 12+ rep range on my 5/3/1 week. Not sure if that is too many reps and I should adjust my starting weight.

    Deads Week 1, Round 2:

    Deads: 260*5, 280*4, 300*9
->forgot my damn straps. Grip was a nightmare. I work out in a basement that has 1000% humidity. Had more reps in my body.

    Ham Curls: 135*12, 10, 130*10

    Hack Machine: 2pps*12, 10

BB Complex: RLDL, BO Rows, Push Press, OH squats 65*3*8
->3 rounds, 8 reps on each exercise

Notes: Weight was 188. Not the best session.

Nice training in here. There is nothing wrong with your 5 week being in the 10-15 range for a few weeks. I ran 5/3/1 for about 5 months and made great progress even with very conservative starting numbers. The ebook says 10lb jumps for lower lifts is fine if you feel ready for it.

    Squats: 235*5, 250*5, 265*8
->did the wrong weight...oh well. Still got a decent amount of reps

    Back Raises: +35*12, +35*12, +35*10

    Hoist Leg Press: 4pps*15, 4pps*15

BB Complexes: 75*3*8 RLDL, BO Rows, Push Press, Front Squat

Notes: This was Thursday. Had some time to kill after work yesterday so did some BB and DB complexed. Might go to the gym today and do a little more. Really liking these instead of cardio.

A friend invited me for a poker night last night. I was like sure thinking it would be a friendly game. Turns out it was all Asian guys (and 1 girl) that play all the freaking time. One kid just came back from a 3 day poker binge in AC. I felt like I was in Rounders. I thought we would play a tourny, but they played a cash game. Everyone bought in for 80-100. I surprisingly had that much on me. I never carry cash. People were throwing around money and chips like it was nothing. People bought in 3, 4, 5 times. There was probably 3k on the table. There was one crazy had with probably 500-600 on the table. I wasn't ready for this. I played tight and turned 80->180. I had 217 when I should have left. I told them I would stick around for another hour. Limped in a couple times but people started raising 50-100 every hand so I would fold and lose my small amount I limped in with. Insane.

I'm going to a board game night tonight at a friend's place. I hope there is no money involved! Hopefully just wine and pretty girls!
