The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    My Push/Pull Meet Results

I've been training for the APF/AAPF Illinois State meet in March, and I decided to do this Jakked Hardcore Push/Pull meet last minute as sort of a tune-up. Awesome gym with a great atmosphere; anyway here were my results today:

Competed in the AAPF Open Division at 220lbs

    Bench
Opener: 365lbs - Good Lift (loose Fury)
2nd Attempt: 405lbs - No Good (Katana, barely touched and beat the press call)
    3rd Attempt: 425lbs - Good Lift

    Deadlift
    Opener: 520lbs - Good Lift
    2nd Attempt: 600lbs - Good Lift
3rd Attempt: 650lbs - No good (no attempt really)

So for a last minute meet, this went fairly well. I finally touched something with the Katana, and the 425 went up nice and fast.

I pulled in a single-ply Champion suit () and the first two attempts went great. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to throw my Ace briefs on for my last attempt at 650. Horrible idea! I couldn't even get down to the bar, I ended up being hunched over and didn't even break the floor. Oh well, 660 is the goal (triple BW) for the State Meet in March.

Here's a vid of my two good Deads (left the camera in the car for bench).

Congrats on the lifts. Those looked like you had ALOT left in the tank.

A friend of mine, Paul Harris, took my APF Open IL State record in bench at that meet. I called him just after he lifted. He said it was a good meet and had alot of fun. I expected Paul to hit 800+, but I guess it didn't happen at this meet. Maybe at the IL State meet in March.
Can't wait 'til tomorrow, 'cause I get stronger every day!

Nice lifts Pete. It really did look like a tune up meet. You didn't even seem to struggle on those dead lifts. Very strong.

That pull looked great! I think you would have had 650-ish in the Champion.
