    Wrist pain result of bench???

    Not trying to be a pussy but I have been lifting for a long time now and have never had actually pain in my wrists. I have just started the SS program and therefore obviously do a lot of bench so is the pain a result of just getting use to a lot of bench or am I simply doing bench a little wrong?

    The pain is on the top of my right wrist.

    You may have your wrist(s) cocked back too much. Concentrate on keeping them straight and keeping the bar in line with your elbows. That should help.

    Thanks yeah that is what I was sort of thinking might be the problem. I'll focus on that tomorrow.

    My wrists always kill on close grip bench days...not to the point where its exremely painful but more uncomforting pain...

    What do you guys do? strap it up or just grit your teeth and finish the sets?

    Do you wear wrist wraps when you bench.

    I had some pain because I used to cock my wrists back quite a bit, once I started wearing wraps the pain went away. If I were you I'd get a pair.

    Yupp same with me, get wrist wraps, they do wonders!
