Do any of you guys get your thighs to go past parallel with the ground or do you stop above parallel. Also what do you guys think of doing partial deadlifts?

Are you referring to stiff legged deadlifts or standard deadlifts?

I go down until the weight hits the floor. Everyone's thighs will be in a different position based on deadlifting style(sumo vs standard) and body structure(long arms vs short arms).

    Chris,
I am talking about regular deadlifts. I ask this because I used to go all the way down and then I saw a video at gymamerica and the figures thighs were not at parallell.

Gino said it right. Everyone's style and body will be different.

As far as partials go, I think they are great. I do the partials out of my power rack. Really builds up strength in the top of the lift and in the back and grip. I do them regularly.

i go about one inch off the ground. i do not like the weight to touch the ground as that takes tension off and show i keep the weight under control.

i go as low as possible w/o touching the floor, cuz my gym doesn't have a weightlifting platform and rubber padded plates (the rubber padded ones have a larger diameter, so i try to go as low until its like using the those plates). however, at my school, tey have one, so i go all the way down. however, i don't ever recalling my thi's going parallel but for squats. deadlifts are for back day for me.

    Deadlifting platform

At my gym we have a deadlifting platform and rack kinda system. You can lower the barbell until it touches the platform or the rack. However the weights would not touch the ground because of the platform height.

I lower the barbell until its close to the platform/rack. The rack height is set about 3inches above the platform to protect fingers/palm.

I go near parallel. The gym America demo is that of partial deadlift. The real deadlift is in that another site with animated GIF demos.. Whats the URL???

1 more note: I prefer overhand grip.. however some guys use alternating or underhand grips.

    Here's what i do

What i do is to put one of those plastic board in the gym ( i think they're for girls to do step up and down.. lol ) and then put bar and weight in front of it..
I go up on the board and do them dead. Since you are at the higher position then the bar, you will be able to go all the way down without touching the ground and hurting your back.
    How far would you go?
