    strength level article

    I found this article on t-nation. Just wondering what your thoughts where on the table about half way down the page. I personally think that those numbers are a little bit high.

    I actually think some of those are a little low, but it's fine.
    A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

    They seem ok to me, I am mostly on great on more than half of the stuff and good on the others...except fot the elbow planks, never done those things.
    Current Stats:
    5'8" @ 204lbs

    30 lbs on bench and dead before I'm great . Numbers are too low if you go by BW times X.

    i suppose the x bodyweight levels are ok, but i agree with sensei - the numbers seem a little low to me, though thats just an opinion.

    They seem right for the average gym. Of course they would be low for competitve pling.

    thanks guys, guess i still have a ways to go. Also i figured i would ask it here instead of creating a new thread, but what is the main difference between a romanian deadlift and a deadlift? In the romanian deadlift you sink your hips more before the pull right?

    so i read "pull-ups" on the left and then looked to the right and saw 90 under "great". i was like " i thought i was good at pull-ups. **** i though being able to do 40 was awesome. then i realized i looked at the push-ups number haha.

    Someone correct me if im wrong but I think the Romanian DL is similar to a Still legged DL, but your knees are at a slight bend instead of being locked.

    Squat - Sucks
    Bench - Decent
    DL - Good

    I think the numbers seem right for the average gym-goer. They are probably a little low for powerlifting gyms, but I've been to several gyms and those seem like decent numbers for the average person. I fall in the great category on the big three, so thats good.
