The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I jogged a route that takes my bus six minutes in 13 last night. I don't have a clue how far it is but since last year I couldn't jog to the end of my street I thought it was kind of cool. I wasn't even winded (but my shins splintered a bit, even with my insoles... I couldn't have gotten much farther even if I wanted).

Running, though... I doubt I could RUN a half mile.

I determine whether I'm jogging or running by stride length. When I jog each stride is about as long as when I'm walking... just more frequent. When I transition to what I would call a run the strides are much longer. Transitioning to a sprint beyond that sees even more of increase.

Is this poll actually about running or jogging? I doubt I could run a half mile... But I can jog over 10kms pretty easy.

I was persuaded to run an 8km cross country race a few years ago. It was pretty ****ing hard. If it wasn't for me running as hard as i could for the whole distance due to it being a race. I think i easily could have run 10+ km. Although, i weighed 120 then.

edit: i accidentally voted 8+ miles thinking it was in km's. Even though it clearly says miles.

Ron, I once ran a 4:42 mile in high school. I could probably do a 12 minute mile now.

I don't run regularly, or at all really--just once in a while. It seems that no matter how out-of-shape I get, I can always knock out 2 miles. I'm damned slow, though.

After a certain point once I get into a good rythym I probably could run forever, but running is really boring. The most I've ever ran was 8 miles, and it was because I got lost. My current favorite cardio excersice is rowing.
