    Deficit SUMO deadlifts?

Hey, currently doing a upper/lower spilt and i'm doing conventinal deficit deads from a 3 inch platform. However, I'm just more suited to pulling sumo with my body type. Easier to keep my back straight etc, so i was think of changing from conventinal to sumo, but still pulling of the 3" platform.

Whats everyones opinion of sumo deficit deads, any one with much experience with them?

I pull sumo, and deficit deads have really helped my speed/strength off the floor. I'll usually rotate regular sumo deads, 2" deficit, 4" deficit, and then a conventional deadlift variation.

did them today. i've done sumos before but the extra height/depth certainly made my adductors/glutes work a LOT harder (which is good cos my adductors are weak)

Yeah, both are legal in powerlifting comps and it's up to you what style you pull. I believe strongman is conventional only though (but you can use straps).
