The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Surge in Firearm Sales?

I called my local gunsmith recently to try and buy a Springfield XD, and naturally they didn't have any. I asked him if he could order it, and he said no, and something about how things aren't good now, that even S&W is on back order. Only thing they had were Glocks. Any gun-toters know what's going on? Is the "recession" hitting firearm makers, or is there a sudden rise in gun sales and people snatching up guns everywhere?

Ever since election day, sales of most firearms generally quadrupled.

People are afraid that Obama will take away/restrict 2nd amendment rights. Gun sales also increase in times of uncertainty, such as a recession.

I want a handgun but my girlfriend is terrified of guns, so I think I will have to settle on one of these for home protection:

Everyone is buying. Springfield's have always sold quickly though, seems like everyone wants an XD. If they have glocks, get one. I'd take the Dodge Ram of handguns over the XD anyday.

the surge in firearm sales has the potential to end the recession.
but people are arming them selfs to fight the resistance of socialism,
the way obama talks about making restrictions on the types of firearms and constraining our rights, people are taking the necessary steps to fight his tranny once he goes full fledge.
get your firearms now before he limits it to the point were you can only buy a single action .22lr revolver or .22lr rifle.

Can't find one anywhere. I am a shotgun and handgun noob, but my wife wants to get a pistol permit now too. Any handgun and shotgun suggestions for a female?

this sounds like wild conspiracy, but why then was obama talking about creating a civilian army?
Is it possible that George Soros and the other socialist puppet masters know that there will be a big problem with rebellion in middle america, and that they will have major constitutional problems (and even possible mass sedition) if they call on the military to disarm american civilians... so why not get civilians to disarm civilians?

Depends on the size of your wife and if she can handle the kick, pics would help

Anyway you can't go wrong with a Remington 870 shotgun. If the kick is a concern a 20ga over a 12ga may be in order.

As for handguns a big part is how it feels in the shooters hands. Go to a dealer that has a range and shoot a few off in your price range.

Bill - my wife shoots a 12 ga when we go trap shooting so I wouldn't say women should stick to 20ga unless she's pretty petite. Take her to the gun store and have her hold different guns to see how they feel. I've got a friend who is a small guy and my 12ga is too long for him and he complains that the 12ga gets too heavy having to stretch his arms out that far (yeah, he's a pussy - my wife will outshoot him with the same 12ga). As far as a handgun, S&W makes these airlite snubnoses that are awesome. I'm thinking of getting one for myself to carry. My wife likes them and I keep telling her I'll buy her one, but she doesn't want it.

OP - first, XDs are a big demand product even before the election and it was tough to find one. But, after the election firearms sales have gone nuts. I went to a gunshow at the end of December and the AR15 dealers had extra tables set up just for all their buyers to fill out their paperwork. We'd pass by one and see 5 guys at a time doing their paperwork to get their AR before they get banned.

If you do a Google search you will find articles on the topic. Gin sales have gone way up due to people's assumption Obama will pass new restrictions.

Too many to list. Wife needs to shoot a bunch of guns and see what she likes. Also depends on intended uses, experience levels, etc. Has she ever fired a shot gun? They are a handful for most men, much less women. N

Gin sales are going up because people are drinking away their sorrows with this economy.

Do you guys have a good site or sites that I can send to a friend that tells them the gun laws, what they need to do in order to get a handgun permit, what they need to buy a rifle, shotgun, good gun practices, gun common sense. etc. etc. Thanks.

Glock's have always been extremely durable in my opinion. I had a whole lot of luck with them overseas. I hate XD's, and would take a Glock, Sig, or H&K over one any day.

I don't think so. I wasn't going into detail comparing, I was just picturing a big 2500 and its sturdiness and comparing it to the sturdiness of a glock. You may not like them, but you can't deny the fact that they are very durable pieces of equipment. Mine never jammed, broke, or misfired in 16 months in Afghanistan. That says a lot to me about the reliability of a weapon.

I will agree with Glock's rugged, time proven reliability...

Dodge on the other hand is the issue. Dodge's are not reliable, they have atrocious resale value, and their company will almost assuredly not survive this recession, unless the GM merger goes thru, or they sell off Jeep, that coupled with the fact that this is their 2nd go around with their company about to go tits up does not speak well to any facet of their organization...

To compare them and their reputation to glock is comical...

I can use a different type of car next time. I have just always considered Glock's to be the Dodge Ram, and the Sig 226 to be the Cadillac. I don't know a damn thing about Dodge Trucks (I drive a Pontiac) but I figured when people read the comment, they will get any idea about the sturdiness and how much of a beating these pistols can take.

agreed, and again, it was not meant as a slam towards glock, I love mine.

    but a slam on Dodge

Use a Chevy Z71 for an example.

I went to a gun show a few weeks after the election and it was insanely packed, more than the previous time I went by far.

Get a gun that feels comfortable to you, and practice, practice, practice. And never shoot like those goofy gangster kids with the gun sideways.
