Thats mega weight to handle. Really is. Class.
Thanks Justin. Honestly i have no fucking clue lol. I wasnt even going to pull because i was pretty run down. Everything just felt good. Usually conv, i miss below the knee because my form off the floor is a mess. I usually come forward at this point and turn it into a SLDL... Just need more practice at it. Now if i could just convince them to start pulls knee high, id be in good shape haha

8/15 Bench Nite- week 2 Southside cycle

    135x8
    225x8
    315x3
365x1 tougher than it has been

    shirt
    455x3 2 brd
    475x3 1 brd
475x1 lost form and dumped 2nd rep
    475x3 1brd middle finger
    475x3 1brd index finger

    CG 3 brd slams
    365x5 x2

    Purpleband pressdowns
    3 sets 20,15,15

Weight felt a little heavy today. Form felt sketchy once I hit 2 brd area on the working sets. It felt like my shoulders were coming loose, but on the last set I had the crew watch me closely and they saw nothing. The weight is still fairly light to touch, so will see what happens once weight gets on the bar.

HJP, we do board 1 of 2 ways. The first is a touch and go. You bring the weight down, touch the board, and press back up. It's a strength movement.
The second, we let the bar free fall down, hit the board hard, and try to reverse it as fast as possible. This helps build more speed and power. When you touch and go, 315 is pretty much 315. When you "slam" 315 turns into about 500some pounds when you quickly try to reverse. Think physics. Make sense?

Do you get all three reps in one breath? I have been trying to. Good way to learn not to dick about and get it down fast!!

We did these last week and broke the handle off our three board. I have repaired it now. I reckon its fucking bombproof.

What have psychics got to do with board pressing though?

The physics of letting the bar freefall down means the bar wants to continue on it's downward path. (think the bar bending) When you try to reverse that weight, you're not only reversing the 315lbs of weight, but also the momentum. Just thought of this. Supposed you weight a baseball and it weighs 1lb. But when you throw the baseball at something it exerts more than 1lb of pressure because of the speed and momentum. That make sense?

Sorry Tone, I totally got what you explained. I asked what 'psychics' have to do with board pressing? I was just
    messing.

Thanks Nick. Its sounds like hes ok. Starts back with the team tomorrow, but no reasons given why he lost almost 40 lbs. He looked bad there for awhile. Watching the game now and the D is looking pretty bad so far against Pitt.

Wonder if that's got anything to do with Andy "Eat" Reid hiring an Offensive coach as the Defensive Coordinator. Hmmmm....
