The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

LMAO....thats hilarious. I have never seen that ad. Prob because the bottled 'draught' guinness was a flop over here. I think they tried to make it more trendy in an effort to get it into 'da clubs'. Never happening. There is also an even lighter version out called ''black beer''...a diet guinness effectively. It will not catch on either.

There, some pointless trivia that you wont give a rats ass about.

I was never a fan of the bottled Guiness, but the canned Guiness with the "widget" inside isnt too bad. The black is just hitting stores over here. Not even going to try it. Cant mess with perfect.

That's some heavy DB pressing after some heavy lock out work. The Eagles finally have a middle linebacker! Now I'm guessing Reid will draft another lineman, like he always does. I still think they need another LB.

Thanks Nick. Dameco Ryan is a beast. I still cant believe we got him. Perfect leader for the D. Also I cant believe Tenn gave him up. First Mario Williams, then him. They finally got their D set and were #1, then tore it apart. Cant blame the rest of the team for being pissed.

    3/24 ME Squat/DL (Deload)

    Testing the Leviathan

    135x5
    225x5
    315x5
    Backwards Canvas bottoms
    405x1
    405x1
    455x1
    455x1
    Straps up
495x0 Bad position from the start
Took suit off, put on bottoms on forward
    405x1 x10

    Rev Hypers
    320x10
    320x10
    320x10

    Wide Pull Throughs
    150x20
    150x20

    Pulldown Abs
    120x15
    120x15

Wanted try the canvas for pulling. Tried it backwards as its recommended, seemed ok. Straps up was hard to get in position, and 495 got to the knees. Back was way rounded. Turned the suit around on Tones advice and dropped weight to get used to it. Dont know the difference between backwards and forwards. Good thing is something clicked today with my form that felt like days of old, and the 405 was flying off the floor, so thats promising. Ill be pulling both Saturday and wednesday(raw) up to the meet.

REALLY REALLY glad to hear you say this. I mean that B. Your bench and squat are flying so it would be a an absolute crime to let your pull drag down what is going to be a monster total.

Funny, my training partner wanted to try and pull sumo in his leviathan and he said he was going to turn it round after squatting but when it came to pulls he said 'F**k it, too much effort to get it off and on again'..lol. Hes a conv puller anyway.

I always heard about people reversing their spamjam single ply suits but not about the leviathan until there on Friday night. Still a SOB to get down to the bar either way i bet lol.

Thanks Justin. You know how this dam lift has been haunting me lately. I feel that I may have refound my comfort zone with it, so will see what happens in a short time until the meet. The canvas isnt as bad to get down with as I thought without briefs, but still tough with straps up. Need to get used to it. Im not set yet on what ill use though. I have 3 choices. Either the Leviathan, The Boss, or the metal king. I actually want to pick up a used ace after this meet and use that for sumo as its said to be the best sumo suit around. Also after the meet, I plan on really going after the deadlift and getting to where it shold be. Ill be out of gear, except for shirt, for awhile to get my raw numbers up a bit, so that should help also. Thanks again buddy. Cheers

I've heard a lot of good things about the Metal King for sumo and conventional. But it's all up to you in the end. You gotta see what's going to work best and fit comfortable and allow you to pull the most weight. I say comfortable because Donnie Thompson says that a comfortable lifter lifts more weight.

IMO, your doing fine. 2 out of 3 lifts are moving down the right path so thats good. I had that same problem when I was training in gear. My squat went from 875-1030, my bench went from 525-640 and my pull went from 665-685, lol. So don't let it get in your head. Like you said, something clicked so hopefully that will get your pull moving. I'm sure the raw training will help out alot with both your squat and pull. I'm looking forward to your meet results!!!
