    1/5 Week 1 Cube Speed Squat

    Leg Press

    Got the work in and not much more. I felt ok coming into the gym, weight was a little heavy, but moved fine. After squats I started getting the aches and chills so packed it up. Hip was a little painful today but powered through it.
    Lowered the % just a tad as I dont agree with how "speed and explosive" squat days are set up with cube. Its the same % and rep scheme as rep day which doesnt make sense. It still moved good, but not like speed sets.

    whats it say in your book? I'm reading some conflicting stuff elsewhere too.

    day/wave 1: 8x3@60%
    day/wave 2: 6x2@65%
    day/wave 3: 5x2@70%

    Thanks Jay. Im feeling better. I think things were catching up on me and just needed some supps and some good rest. Hopefully that did the trick.
    We were going off the original Cube method(prebook) that Lilly gave us. Im going to go through the book and change some things around for squat. Pulls are the same and we are following the geared bench routine. Ill check it out today

    Ok, weird day. The last few weeks ive been having crazy lower back pumps especially on the left side as soon as I start anything lower. My back was pumped aftwr the frickin 135. It was so bad by the time I got to shrugs that I was leaning left pretty good. I just stopped there since it was like doing them one legged and I wasnt doing back raises which was called for. The weight was a joke today and I wasnt putting on the canvas to to speed work, so I opted to use the Boss(which is extremely tight now). Im thinking maybe im misaligned and its compensating for it. Ill have the Chiro take a look at it.

    First time under heavy weight and in suit since the meet. Wasnt really comfortable under the bar and stance felt off a little. But the weight moved pretty quick though. Was a little high, but not worried about that. Wasnt pressing the issue with the hip too much.

    Thanks Bri. No, these were based off 100%, but some adjustments will be made. Not a fan of the squat routine the way its laid out. Some of us will tweak it a little.

    I agree, I do like the program, but I don't care for the 2 reps on rep day. I'm sure you can do more, but when I hear reps, I think of 10+. What don't you like?

    Yeah I feel the same way. I think its important to get those higher rep sets on rep day. 2 rep set hardly qualifies as reps. Rep day and speed day ill tweak a little. Make speed day more about speed also.

    Not sure what the bands took off. Just missed the 545. Not supposed to miss a weight but fuck it, wanted to try it anyway. 525 moved pretty good. Had to cut the accesories short as I did this on break at work and had to get back.
