The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Im going to take that last set as my victory and call seeing this 405x2 vendetta off.. 315+80 chain = 395... thats close enough for me as a triple.

nice work brian. Guinness for strength!

A little off today after fighting sickness all week, but not too bad. Form was a little off. Cut a lot of the accessory work out. We were all a little beat up today. Based numbers off my best meet squat instead of 90% of my best gym squat.

    3/26 A little setback

Monday morning around 5am, i woke up to some heavy chest pain. Bad enough that I went right to the hospital ER. They admitted me right away and performed a bunch of cardiac test on me. The stress test first revealed that I may have 3 blockages in my heart, commonly known as the widow maker. So I stayed overnight and the first thing in the morning i had a cardiac catheter inserted through my groin up to my heart which has a camera to look inside. Turns out the walls of my arteries were thickened but not closed. They put me on meds and sent me home. Its a good thing that I did go now because it was a small matter of time before they did close.
I have a catheter closure devise in the crease of my right hip which protrudes and will prevent me from squatting to parallel and also from wearing gear. It takes about 90 days for it to desolve. So It looks like plans are changing for this upcoming meet. I will be a bench guy for awhile it looks like.

3/27 day 1 post hospital Bench

Doc said 90 days until I can lift heavy..pfffff

Flat bench with legs straight out
    135x10
    225x10
    Add sling shot
    315x10
    365x10
    405x5

    Cable Flyes
    3x20

Inc DB Curls s/s DB Side Raises
    40sx10 s/s 25s x12 2 sets

    45 degree DB Shrugs
    50s x20 x2

    Rope Pushdowns
    150x12 x 2

So got some work in without using any leg drive. A little sluggish but warmed up quick. The db shrugs on a 45' angle are to work more of the lower trap area that supports the weight on squats. I had some rounding issues Saturday in this area and these should help strengthen it.

Pretty good Bri thanks. I got the all clear from the doctor today and had the stent removed out of my leg. A little sore in that area but should be able to start training fully in a few weeks. Ill be doing another bench only instead in May and trying for that 700.

First shirtwork since being hospitalized. Still cant use legdrive and had my legs out in front of me and no real arch. Weight was easy but real unsteady. The initial press i would wobble and the weight would stall until I regained stability, then finish the press. You can see it in the vid. Pretty happy that it was this easy without legs.
