    7/15 bench opener

    Home from vacation and went to take my opener tonight. Shirt doesnt fit at all. Way too loose. Slips right on. Worked raw up to a 315 single, then 365 and 405 with the slingshot for singles. Put the shirt on and went

    And thats how it ended. Just too loose and nothing after the initial pop(which was barely there). I had the shirt all the way up as i usually wear it, but the bar came down pretty quick. Before, 605 was the absolute lowest weight i could touch. So with this weightloss it really made a huge difference. So im going to boil the shirt and jack the collar come meet day. Should be ok.

    About a week out. Weight is hanging around 207-8. But i got a pretty bad summer sinus cold. Need to kick this before the meet. Cant afdord to go into the meet with all this sinus pressure. My head might blow on squats...

    7/20 squat

    Just an easy day basically getting some bloodflow and loosening up tight joints.
    Crew was doing banded speed work, so I just jumped in and did a few sets w/ 235+lightbands x5.
    Then some SLDL with 225. Finished up with 3 sets of Ab pulldowns.

    7/27/17 RPS PA State Championships

    Well, put simply it was a bitter sweet day. Making this weight class wasn't exactly easy as I lost a total of 30 lbs (228 to 208, then a 10lb water cut). I water loaded all week to cut, but it didn't go well at all. For some reason this time the water load didn't work. I was sitting at 209 Thursday morning. A bottle of Magnesium Citrate, a handful of Dandelion Root pills, and a ton of hot baths, and I was at weight by 11:30 Thursday night. Weighed in at 197.2. Here layed the problem. My IV connection nevr came through so I drank 2 gallons of water/pedialyte and ate smart, but couldn't fully get the weight on. I only weighed 203 Saturday morning. I drank as much as I could but it was going right through me.
    Squats
    Warmups actually felt good and strong at first, but I quickly felt a zap in energy after a few sets. Plus my suit was just too big from the weight loss. Nothing I could do there now. Worked up to 775 Straps up and light wraps and it was a grinder..... So Tone had me drop my opener to that rather then 825.
    1st attempt 775- 2 whites. Shaky but got it
    2nd attempt 825- 3 reds. Took the weight and immediately felt I was going to black out. Had spotters take it rig after I started down
    3rd attempt 825- 3 reds. Still dizzy but got it to the hole and got stapled halfway up.

    My head was floating and dizzy, but warm ups felt ok. Boiled the shirt to help tighten it up, but the chest plate was still big. Worked up to 525 to a 1brd and felt fine. Again we dropped my opener from 605 to 575 to be safe.
    1st attempt 575- 3 whites Went up nice.
    2nd and 3rd attempts 605-3 reds each. Just nothing there. Very disappointed at this point.

    Deadlifts
    Being how this day was going, I didn't know what to expect here. I kept a really conservative opener of 550
    1st attempt 550- 3 whites. Fast and easy
    2nd attempt 600- 3 whites. Gave me a 1950 and a Pro Total @198

    3rd attempt 630- 3 whites. Boom! Easier then the 600 and gave me a 10x bodyweight total 1980

    So a miserable day turned out o be a pretty good one, giving me my 198 Pro Total and a 10x bodyweight total. Not the day I had planned, but lessons were learned and a better plan for the next. Ill compete once more this year, so the top total is still possible.
