The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Great benching today Brian! Just curious, how much do you tuck your elbows when benching?

Thanks Ryan. Id say I tuck a fair amount. Right before I start the descent, I tense up the elbows causing them to turn in which helps with tucking. Id say they are a max of 45' from my side, maybe closer. If my dumb ass can figure out how to transfer video from new phone, ill post some up of my bench.

Last set of presses had some bounce in them, but all good still. On another note, Im really unsatisfied with my fitness level. My strength is great, but im out of shape and carrying too much fat. I could care less about a sixpack and sh1t, but I need to be in some kind of shape fore my job. I just feel like sh1t. Im at 215 right now, so im making a short term goal to get to 205. In the long run, 190-195 is the goal and compete either 198 or 181.

Nice pressing. And don't worry too much about the weight, at 215 you'd be slim compared to the guys in this area.

Thanks for the words guys. I know 215 isnt large, but I dont carry it well. 190 might be stretching it, but 200 would be about perfect.

I know what you mean about feeling out of shape man. A few times throughout last year, I felt like I really wanted to get leaner and get some actual cardio in like running or bball. But then I said **** it and decided not to... lol.

    2/13 Conditioning

    Tabata Burpees
    20 seconds on
    10 seconds off x8 (4minutes total)

Today is DL day, but time constraints have me shut down. I have my kids until I go to work, so ill DL tommorrow. So I decided to try out some Tabata stuff for conditioning today. Cant be that hard right?? Well holy sh1t...I dont think Ive done anything harder exercise-wise in my life! I was dead after the 2nd set! Toughed it out(pretty dam ugly burpees at that haha) and dam near passed out afterwards. No more than twicw a week for these F'n things...

Ok, a little pissed today. I couldnt make it to the gym in time after work today because of having to stay until 5pm.(gym closes at 6) We had some crazy sh1t going on downtown with underground transformers blowing and shooting manhole covers 30 feet in the air...actually pretty cool to see. Thank god it was a Sunday though and not too busy. Anyway, i didnt get DLn in at all this week. So Ill probably pull my week 2 sets on squat day this week.

Dude that's awesome. It is like we are all on the same page or something. I too am doing more circuit training and trying to improve my fitness levels lately. Your strength is insane still, bro. Very respectable numbers and inspirational stuff. I hear ya on the snow. We are good this year but a couple years ago it was just insult to injury. It'd snow 2 feet and then a week later it would snow another 2 feet. My back strength actually went way the **** up that year, lol! I hate shoveling now. I bought this shovel this year from Home Depot that looks like a ****in sled with a giant handle attached to it. I get priceless looks from cars driving by as I'm pushing truckloads of snow down the driveway and sidewalk with it. I told my neighbor that his kids could borrow my shovel and take it off some sweet jumps down at the park if they wanted.
