The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Know what you mean BC. The fact that we are getting in and doing a bit is the most important thing.
This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy - George Bernard Shaw

Sometimes it's hard to get in and stay focused around the holidays. I only trained once last week and ended up taking the rest of the week off. Soon it will be all over and then you can start hitting it hard again.

    12/29 Squat/Pull

    16" box squat
    135x5
    225x5
    315x5
    Briefs
    405x5
    Belt
    495x5
    585x2 x2 PR
    405x15 free squats

    Sumo pulls
    315x5
    405x5
    495x1
    525x1 PR
    545xM

    Plate shrugs
    45s x100

I am back!! Everything felt good today and even hit 2 PRs. The squats were all light, and I was good for a decent amount more, but I had no spotters and a walkout. just not comfortable enough to go any higher there. Pulls felt good and strong, but I need to work on getting my hips down and chest up with the briefs on. I was a little too bent over off the the floor, thus the miss. More of a day to find out where I'm at at the end of the year, and I'm pretty happy with it, considering the shape my back was in a few weeks ago. So kiss my ass 2010, and bring on 2011!! Nothing but PRs for all of us. Its great to have a bunch of supporters here on WBB. You guys are all great and I wish you all the best in the coming new year. I'll talk to you all next week/year. Until then, Happy New Years everyone!

    Great work on the PR's!!!
I know how you feel abou the walkouts, they suck but I think in the long run they do help.

Damn Brian, great session! Looks like you're ready to test your squat and break your squat PR! If you were able to squat 40 more lbs than your PR for a double, and you found that they were light on a slightly high box, smash that 545! Great to see you break your deadlift PR! What briefs are you talking about? Inzer Powerpants or did you get new ones? It's hard to keep track of everyone's gear around here. Happy New Years to you too, bud.

Thanks Keith! Squats are feeling light and fast. I still havent even tested it yet due to crappy equipment. Time for a new gym. I bought a pair of Boss briefs and they kick some ass, even though they are a little loose. Still great carryover. Happy New years bud!

Sh***y day. Extemely weak feeling. But the last few weeks, my upper body volume has been very low, so its to be expected. Now that the holidays are over, things can get back to normal. Also, ive been off all supplements except a multi vitamin for 3 weeks. So that doesnt help either. My left left shoulder is pretty messed up and I should get it checked out. It killed trying to do weighted dips, and most shoulder work I cant do either. But no matter what, if it needed surgery, its out of the question. Blah blah blah enough excuses. Nothing but up this year.
