The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Fun day today in the gym. First time under a SSB and its pretty humbling. Had to get used to the difference in weight positioning. I was driving my hips too fast and dumping the weight backwards at first, but got the hang of it after a few sets. Id like to use this bar on occassion as its a weakness id like to hit good.

Chains on pulls only 50lbs. Minibands I put around my feet and over the bar. Speed felt not too bad. A little slow on the last sumo. I feel a weakness is my lower lats/ lower back. Anyone has any good moves to work lower lats let me know.

Just read this.....my lower lats are shit but I have found rope rows with a big stretch help me.

Thanks for the idea on lower lats. Im not sure its affecting me at all, but I felt there might be some weakness there when pulling.

    5/2 Bench

    135x5
    225x5
    275x3
    315x1
    add Rage x
    2 brd
    405x2
    455x2
    475x2
    495x1
525x0 (form was loose, called it on the way down)
525x0,0 (just no pop off board)

    CG 3 Brd
    index on smooth
    275x8
    275x8
    275x5

Not too bad. Still using Tims shirt. Everything felt great until 525. No pop in the shirt at all. The third attempt the bar came down nice and I thought for sure I had it nailed, but nothing. Ill be ordering a new SDP in the next couple weeks, so until then ill just work brds with Tims shirt.

    Good solid session!!

Yeah the lower lat work may help a little but I know your lats are strong.

Those speed pulls will help against all that tension!!

I just got to face the reality that my CNS took a hit when I was sick. Strength is way down, so I just have to suck it up and do what I can. 455 felt very heavy and 495 just wasnt moving. So I added the reverse bands and got some work in. Its frustrating, but whatever. Im going to talk to Jon Rock and see what he thinks to get me back on track for DLing.

Solid work off the 2 board BC. Especially if the shirt was dead.

The SDP's look badass. Really aggressive looking shirt. One of our gang has one on the way. He has been just about every shirt going including an Overkill so it will be interesting to hear what you both think.

Thanks justin. The rage feels good up to 495, and then dies. Im going to boil it and see if i can get a little more out of it. If not, then ill just work down boards for reps until i get my new one.
