    Awesome job on the deadlift but you know Saturday we are hitting squat openers, then reverse bands with like 2nd and 3rd attempts and then we're working up to a deadlift opener right? Make sure you rest alot to recover in time for Saturday.

    Ill be ready. I wanted to pull twice this week. Originally, it was going to be a speed day yesterday, but I felt really good and just pushed it a bit.

    Moreso of a suit learning day for me rather than max effort. The day called to work up to first attempt. Every set was light, but the first 645 the suit shot my right hip forward in the hole and caused a pretty good wobble. A little advice from Mike Ski helped me get more situated and by the time i put the bands on, I felt more solid. I shoule be good to go with it. Pulling is another story with the suit. I hate it. Could not get down at all and am way to forward. Took it off and went back to briefs, which just wore me the hell out changing. Missed it again, but no biggie. i pulled heavy on Wednesday, so twice in a week is a little much. Overall, happy with my squat right now. Weight is no problem.
    *edit- forgot to mention bw is up to 214, and gear fit pretty dam tight. Battled depth all day. I was an inch or so high all day for the most part. Ill sink it soon though, just need more weight I guess

    Thanks Bri! The plan was to open at 675-700 which I still will. I was battling the suit a little still so I decided to call it and hit some rev bands. But with a little advice from Mike (a little wider and really sit into the suit) I felt really good. Ill prob go one more full day and find out where im at then set my attempts. Im aiming for July 9th to get some numbers on the board this half of the year. 800 will go up on Nov 5th though

    Make sure the opener is easy brother.

    Squats were solid man after the small set back you had your killing it already........I admire that sort of tenacity!!

    With pulling in the suit even though you had a couple misses due to not being able to reach the bar in your normal position can you post a video so I can see how you reach for the bar and set-up?
    May be able to help as I used to not even be able to get my fingers to the bar with loose straps and beltless.

    Looking like you may go over 800 in the squat by Nov with it all dialed in and in tight knee wraps.

    Yeah, I think a wider stance with multi-ply gear works best. I'm sure you'll get it figured out by the time the meet rolls around.

    Yeah i felt that coming into the hole, I didnt have to fight the suit as much and was able to control myself better.

    Really analyzing my pull this morning. I watched over again Coan's pull video and realized that my stance raw is exactly like his. Once I get my computer problems fixed, I will post my raw deficit vid. Im feeling that im better suited to pull either raw or single ply. Ive pulled twice in the suit, and both times I failed miserably. When I pull raw or with something singleply( powerpants) I set up narrower (ring middle of leg) and get good leg drive for lockout. Being too wide, my hips lock up and I have trouble getting through to the bar. The last 2 weeks I pulled 545 from the floor and 400+200 bands from 3 inch deficit raw, but missed 495 both times ive been in the suit. This week I may try out Mike Ski's centurian to see how it feels. If I like it, I may try out a Velocity suit.

    I do not want to sound like I think Im a great puller (I do not) but I do want to help as you have helped me.

    I would not give up on the idea of pulling in 2 ply........lots of big numbers are being done in canvas now some guys even have briefs with the legs trimmed down underneath.

    Your hips will need to be a bit higher at the start so your back will do more of the work and you really have to pull back and lever off your glutes, not squat the weight straight up.

    Still if you are comfy with your style then I guess thats best, just some ideas.

    The metal suits are thin.

    Best of luck bro I bet it just clicks and you hit 600 and look back and chuckle.

    Yeah, I guess ill go at it some more in the suit and play with form a bit. If I can find my form in it then ill be good to go. Im aiming to hit a meet on July 9 hopefully if I get some things worked out, so ill have to decide what im going to do. Thanks for your help bro. Great advice!

    Thanks Bri! Ive been thinking of different form tweeks I want to try, so I will go again in it. If I do go with a Velocity, they do offer velcro, so that will be a defenite.
