    11/25 Shirted Bench

    135x5
    225x5
    315x3
    365x1
    Sling shot
    405x3
    Add SDP shirt
    495x3 3brd
    585x2 3brd
    635x1 3brd missed 2nd
    635x0 3brd messy setup

    CG Bench
    275x10 x2

    Shoulder Press Machine
    300x10 x2

    DB Rows
    120s x12 x3 each side

Getting back into the shirt and trying to get reacclimated to it. Technique and strength still a little off, but its fitting pretty tight so thats a good thing. A few more sessions and I should be close to being back to normal. Ive been invited to bench at an event in February, so plenty of time to get it back up and around the 700 mark.

First time really taking any weight down in the shirt since the meet. Need to make a few tweaks to the form, but no too bad for being awhile. Ive decided to do a geared meet at the end of January as a prequalifier for next years Arnold. Not a lot of time to get ready, but I should be able to put up a decent total. After that, im going to run a raw cycle and possibly do a raw meet in spring.

First time in suit since last meet. Ive put on a lot of size in the quads and the suit was extremely tight. First 605 i tightened the straps and could barely get to the bar. Loosened the up on the second and was much better and faster. Just wanted to work up to a projected opener. Knees were a little sore so I took it easy on the front squats. Very happy with the start of the cycle.

I've noticed these 10 second holds in a few journals recently (people obviously copying what they read in the Pro Journals like yours to learn and improve themselves... that's certainly what I do (whether it works for me or not is a debatable)).

I'm sure this is going to sound like a very stupid question, but is it purely for grip work or are there other benefits? (I was thinking possibly on the lines of CNS conditioning but with the kind of numbers you guys are moving I don't suppose that's ever going to be an issue).

    thanks.

Thanks Mark. The holds help me get reacclimated to holding heavy weight raw. Always helped me too.

Pretty much. I like throwing them in with rack lockouts to get acclimated to the weight raw. Some guys like it, some thinknit doesnt help. For me it always did. I used to do heavy static holds before my rep work. The weight would feel light as hell and more explosive.
