The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Louie Simmons Q&A right here!

    Often Imitated. Never Duplicated.

Ok, so Chris talked Lou into doing a Q&A here.

Now, Lou won't be posting here himself. He's very busy every day and doesn't have the time to sit down and answer everyone's questions. So here's what we're going to do.

Post your questions here and we'll pick the top 3 or 4 each month or so and I will take them to the master himself. He sends me his answers and then I'll post them here along with the corresponding question so there is clarity.

Try and be creative with your questions. Lou has had the same dynamic effort questions or max effort questions over and over again, plus I can answer most of the basic questions. We'll send off the more complicated ones that will inspire some good discussion here

For those of you that don't know, go to the website I linked to. That is Louie's webpage. You can find some very in depth articles that may lead you to some good questions. Louie is one of the best strength and powerlifting coaches ever. I have trained there for about 5 years now and would never have reached where I am today if it weren't for him.

ok so I know that WSFSB exists but what approach would Louie Simmons himself have the average joe take towards westside, in particular speed training and what sort of substitutes would he make for the most basic of training (just an old fashioned cage, barbell and bench) to replace things such as the box squat box and the glute ham raise, etc. in his training?

I have a very serious question that I have really been wanting to ask the man himself for a few months now.

I have a herniated lumbar disk, and I am worried about my squat and deadlift going down while I recover. I am wondering what kind of routine he would have his trainees do to aid in recovery and/or to help maintain current lowerbody strength while injured. I unfortunately don't have access to a reverse hyper, but I love to train and I'll do just about anything at this point.

I was thinking of doing some type of light good morning (I need to buy bands), followed with hypers, core work, and I was also thinking of trying to work in some belt squats by putting a plate on the floor with weights layed on it and a hook going through the plates to the belt. I might have to fab something up. What else does he put his faith in? Leg presses?

To be honest I'm halfway afraid of making my own decisions about my back because I keep making bad ones.

Thanks for the questions guys. The list has been made and I am working on getting it off to Lou. Check back for this to be in an article form with responses, within the next week or two.
