The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Do you think there could be a Revolution again?

Do you seriously think there could be another violent revolution/uprising like Harpers Ferry, or even a smaller version of the Revolutionary War, like where a state secedes from the Union? What if it got real bad like Great Depression bad, where police forces had to be shrunk and the people were desperate to do anything - not just a riot, but an actual over taking of a military base and arming of the people.
Never shall innocent blood be shed, yet the blood of the wicked shall flow like a river. The Three shall spread their blackened wings and be the vengeful striking hammer of God.

Bill, it's already like that now. Durham County just lost close to 30 spots within the force. Many of the smaller departments around here are either laying off or reducing hours for many of the LEOs.

Americans are too complacent now to really cause rioting or even mass protests.

Have you seen protests in the rest of the world? UK just had a very messy incident with the G20 summit, remember when that brown kid was shot by the police when he was running away in France? Many countries in Europe went through some heavy rioting over that. Greek riots...etc..

Cops murdering someone seems to be a monthly thing in the states, and no violent protests. The most recent violent protests I know of, took place in the 70s, the Weatherman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weatherman_(organization), black panthers, etc..

I think the current generation is extremely complacent, I very much doubt that people would even be able to organize themselves in a mass.

Your comparison of complacency in the US as compared to the UK isn't very accurate. The Seattle WTO protests in 1999 crush any kind of comparison to the 2009 G20 Summit. Offhand, I think there were somewhere around 40,000-50,000 protesters. However, I think that a lot of the hippies protesting don't even really know what they're protesting or why, just that its trendy to go and protest globalization meetings.

Although, I do agree with the generalization of complacent behavior in younger generations. Personally, I don't really care and would never give up my lifestyle to protest or take part in something of this nature unless placed into a dire situation where I would be indirectly involved no matter what.

Have you seen the pics from the G20 protest?

Cops murdering people on a monthly basis? Care to back up those statements with something other than an isolated incident?

    Of course, http://www.reddit.com/search?q=cop&sort=top.

They vary from outright murder, to keeping a speeding man from taking his dying mother-in-law to the hospital, to tasering a wheel chair bound woman 10 times in 2minutes until she died.

This is an interesting one, on that list above as well. Cops botched a drug raid, broke into a 92 year old woman's house, killed her, then planted evidence. They were caught, and two of the cops later pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Oh I see. First it starts out murdering citizens every month and then moves to various other things. On top of that, the fact that the system dealt out punishment to some ****ed up cops doesn't seem to be enough for you.

And for what it's worth, your link doesn't show anywhere near the "cops murder people every month and nobody does anything" statement you made. If you can come up with something that shows where cops are consistently murdering people on a monthly basis, I'm all ears.

If I am not mistaken that "wheel chair bound woman" was mentally disturbed and armed with a hammer and at least two knives. She was attacking both police and family members.

Don't go around using weapons on people who are trained in using deadly force. Admittedly she may not have been in her right mind, but that in no way mitigates the fact that police were facing a danger to themselves and the public. They had a choice between shooting her and tazering her.

As for the speeding man...your interperation of the facts is completely wrong. The MIL was ALREADY in the hospital and he was on his way to visit her when he ran a red light. So he was speeding and ran a red light and you are suprised that he was pulled over?

The G20 protests were pretty tame.

Loads of middle class student bellends protesting for the sake of it and scarpering when things got nasty.

    EDIT: this picture is hilarious.

I doubt it, at least not on a large enough scale to do anything.

It was a whole different story 250 years ago. The playing field was level and civilians had access to the same weapon technology as the military. Fast forward to today. Even if a base was attacked by an American insurgency, it would be squashed very quickly because the military is better trained and better equipped. Everyone is fully aware of that fact so, though people might want to, it isn't going to happen.

No. The only revolution that will occur is the slowly unfolding socialist one that will, and has, altered the very heart of this country.

For better or for worse, you decide.

I think the executive/legilative braches have done a good enough job of deflecting their inadequacies onto the wealthy in the private sector to prevent the people from rising up against them. The whole "wall street vs. main street" image I believe is being used as a shield to blind people from the rampant government spending and laziness of Congress that is playing a significant part in keeping us in recession. By shifting the blame on the wealthy, the government turns the problem from people vs. government to people vs. people. The government can then tax the **** out of the wealthy, making themselves out to be the "good guy".

That's as close to a consiracy theory as my brain will permit, but I think there is a least some truth to it. Class warfare benefits the government when the government is seen to be helping the "majority". I aspire to be wealthy; I am young and have a good paying job and a solid career path. I don't have any debt, and look forward to saving/investing my money. I'm not going to revolt, but it may be time to consider moving somewhere else so the government doesn't rob me someday.

One can only hope there is another revolution. Most people these days are all talk and no action, though.
