The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

What weightlifting has done for me

Over the past 2.5-3 years I have gained a decent amount of muscle. My posture is better and my back has become quite thick. On two separate occasions I have been called "The most masculine person they know" by two lady friends of mine. Has anyone else received this type of compliment?

Guys tell me they wouldn't want to mess with me. And girls touch my PP.

So, I guess those are good compliments.

I used to look like the picture in the attachment.
I was about as skinny fat as any human can get.

It has done wonders for my confidence, which extends to pretty much all areas of my life. It gives me a release at the end of my day and in general has made me a happier person.

I've had my ups and downs with it but overall it's added some pretty good mass. Like BF said, posture is better and people notice. Plus nice clothes look better on people that can fill them out. Skinny guys dressed in nice shirts look like children who don't want to be wearing them.

In the past it has helped me with jobs, vag, college scholarship and confidence.

Now, it is all about lifting for appearance and lifestyle.

Definitely seem to get more respect from people, especially other guys. I don't get called "kid" as much, anymore (could be just getting older, though). Certainly it helps the self confidence in most situations.

    I used to be skinny.

    Now I'm skinny fat.

I was screwing around with a speedbag a couple years and 35 lbs ago, and a girl watching said she would not want to piss me off.

Being up 55 lbs from when I graduated from high school (twiggy) is an ego boost when someone sees me for the first time since then. The rest of the would-be benefits I would have had anyway just because I'm tall.

I get asked if I "workout" about 3-4 times a month.

I get called "BigMan" on the basketball court (which is kind of sad considering I'm only 5'11 and I dont think I'm that big).

And whenever people want to do something/talk about something, that requires "strength" at work or school they usually either refer to me or ask me to do something

Ditto for me too on all that (except I don't play basketball).

My daughter started high school this year. Her and her best friend were out driving around (best friend is driving age) when their car broke down. A couple of the football players offered to give them a ride to our house, but stopped two blocks short and made them walk the rest of the way because they were scared I might think they were trying something with my baby girl.

When the girls got home - they were pissed. At me. The football players called me "Hercules". Somehow it was my fault that the girls had to walk.
