The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

yeah, its going to be interesting. I did already do smolov for 5 weeks with good results, so i think the gains will be slightly less this time around, but im still expecting a decent gain.

I actually liked it, i felt like I was still warmed up.

This program is going to be a real bitch. 1/3 done the first phase. I am getting some pretty nasty tendinitis in both knees now as well as loads of new scare tissue in one of my glutes.

Gains are going to be great though

One workout in itself is not to bad, but 48hours isn't enough to recover from fridays and saturdays squat sessions.

Just about 1/2 way done the meso cycle already. That 6 plate raw box squat is getting close

    keep training, youll get there

    bench
    135 x 8
    185 x 5
    add reverse greens
    225 x 1
    275 x 1
    315 x 1
    365 x 1
    385 x 1
    395 x 1
    405 x m

    remove bands
    250 x 3
    x 3
    x 3
    265 x 3
    275 x 6

    notes
    - bench felt pretty solid today. My old PR with the reverse greens is around 450lbs.. but the rack I am using now is so much shorter that the bands help far less.
    - 405 should have gone, my bench kind of slid when i pressed it off my chest and it caught me off guard.
    - pretty happy with how bench is feeling these days though.

    bench

    floor press
    135 x 8
    x5
    185 x 3
    225 x 3
    275 x 1
    295 x 1
    315 x 1 *I think this is a PR.

    bench
    135 x 5
    225 x 3
    add rage-x
    365 x 3
    405 x 3
    455 x 3

    raw 2 board press
    225 x 5
    315 x 5
    x5
    x5

    notes
    - bench is moving along which is fantastic given the volume of my squats lately.
    - 455 x 3 in the shirt was much easier then 2 weeks ago plan:
    w1: 455 x 3
    w2: 465 x 3
    w3: 475 x 3

I think I am going to surpass my goal to be back at 500 by the end of december.

Thanks! I really think it is coming along again.

As it turns out I can handle a great deal of lowerbody volume, but i seem to get stronger with a lower volume/frequency approach to benching. I have no clue why, but if this continues to work I will be happy.

dreading next 2 days.. back to back squat workouts.

knee is borderline. I think if I warmup enough and take enough anti-inflams i will be able to push through the next 2 days. With the knee issue ive had to resort to a more traditional style squat (although still high bar which is all I do).

glute is getting pretty bad as well, again it just needs time off and about 10 hours of rolling to break up all of the scar tissue. If i flex my glute i hear popping sounds right now.

Going to be doing a 2-3 week recovery block for the squat as soon as I finish this.

The smolov mesocycle is likely one of the harder 3 week squat cycle around. I will have done 8 weeks of this squat cycle total after this weekend. All I can say is, I am glad that I am at week 8.5 and not 1.

Now I just hope the Intense Phase of the program I plan on doing isn't going to kill me.

Man smolov is ****ing nuts. A guy at my gym was doing it to up his raw max. I'm not quite sure if he ever made it through, but I know he did make some awesome gains.

Much respect for finishing it when you do. BTW what is a pro total at junior? 2300?
