    Thank you matt rhodes!

Your raw squat program helped me phenomenally in my upcoming meet. My numbers went for squat... 390, 430 (5 LB PR) 440 (15 lb PR). Before this my best squat in a meet was 395, though that was almost a year ago (though in the same weight class, 90 kgs). 440 was SOLID too. 445 or 450 were definitely a possibility. I approached the bar with a lot more confidence because of the rep work, and I'll be doing at least another cycle or two in the coming months.

Bench went allright. The judging was very, very strict on this. The pause looked longer than other raw federations, you were not allowed to move your feet or head once the lift began (which they were calling people on), and you had to wait for three commands - "start," which was after the hand off, "press," and "rack." the "start" command was a new one. I got called on my second lift of 280 because I sort of "levered" the weight up, i.e. pressed up with one elbow, then the other, near my sticking point. And I moved my feet apparently. Made the third attempt fine though.

For deadlift I did 490, 535 (5 lb PR), and 551! I NAILED 551 too, to the point where I asked for a fourth attempt to see if I could break any records but they weren't doing that that day. I'm pretty convinced that I was good for 565 or 570 or something. I'll get the vids up soon.

Oh and I'd also like to thank Sgt. ROCK for some deadlift advice too -- I used a way narrower stance this time, which I think helped significantly. I definitely out deadlifted several guys who were in much higher weight classes than I was.

Not to hijack your thread, man, but I had some great success with Rhodes' raw squat program as well. I ran it for several cycles. I think it put ~100lbs. on my squat. Great job at the meet, man!

Great job, Bro. I'm glad it worked out for you. Be consistant with it and you'll keep adding on the lbs. Great work.

And, my head isn't that big. It fits my body. Sort of...

Rhodehouse or anyone else who has done this routine, do you do DE work each week with this program or are you squatting once a week?

The program has you set up to squat once a week. I think Rhodes set it up that way because he said his hips just couldn't take squatting twice a week anymore.

I lift MWF, with my days rotating, so some weeks I squatted twice anyways. I usually made sure to make my other day either a light DE session (no bands) with lots of accessory work or just go lighter on my rep work. I think because I'm not moving that much weight yet so it hasn't been that big of a deal, though I could see how it would be too much rep work for bigger guys.

No DE work. DE work is easy, that's why people like it. It's very easy to move light weights fast. I feel it's useless. I know some Westside guys and their cronies will tell me I'm wrong, but I don't care. As for the 4th week, I would change that to lighter rep work. I used 500lbs for a set of 5 that week, most of the time. I tried the DE work, but I didn't think it was worth a $hit. I put it in because I know people think it needs to be done because Louie says so. I actually did it because Louis said so.

    Squat once per week.
    Bench once per week.
All upper body assistance work once per week.

You can certainly try adding DE work in if you must. I think it's better to try and move the heavy weights fast, rather than DE work. Afterall, we don't have DE box squat contests with 987654345678lbs of band tension and 36 chains per side. Unless my federation is different?

Check out the article and here's a novel idea - DON'T CHANGE IT. Do it exactly as it's written. It will work. Why, because I know better than you guys.
