Brad sounds like he really like that movie, haha.

Great work on the training and the vids as usual Marcus! You guys/gals are doing good things out there on the West Coast.

Oh, you noticed that? haha, we definitely have some interesting conversations. You don't get to follow much of it, since the clips of the lifts are short. Thanks for the kind words about the team.

I tried the stop the bar 2-3" off your chest thing. It was interesting to get the hang of it. It was definitely harder on my forearms arms and triceps.

My right trap is also bigger from only doing deadlifts one way.

did you find it hard to switch grips? I feel very bad even with 135lbs using my opposite grip, i am not sure i have the flexibility to use the opposite grip even.

It took some getting used to. Now I feel like I can deadlift equal well either way. The odd thing is I naturally use the opposite grip if I deadlift sumo. I know you have some wrist issues, so it might be harder. You could always do as much as you can double over hand.

Do you generally have problems unracking? I used to have a ton of problems, and sometimes I couldn't even get the weights off the hooks. In the end it turned out to be mostly a positioning thing (and I had the monolift set to low).

I think I ride the bar higher on my back then you so that may make a difference, but I never found the whole 'arch the bar out of the rack' thing to work for me. Anything over 800lbs I could not get out of the rack doing that. Now I just get mad and stand straight up and take the bar out of the rack with my quads, seems to work for me.

I basically found the same thing. I just lock my arch in tight and stand up using my quads and glutes. I would also end up losing my balance if I tried to "arch it out".
Marcus, if you are tinkering with your set-up it will just take some time to get used to a new "routine". You seem to do a good job of analyzing and correcting things, so I'm sure you will be fine.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I used to try to arch it out. Now I'm getting my hips more under the bar and using my legs. I moved the mono almost 2" higher. It puts me in a more balanced position. When I arch it out, I never get my hips under me. In ~2 weeks, I'm going to go decently heavy in my suit, straps up, no briefs. That way I can see how the change affects me straps up which is where I had the most issues. I figure without briefs under the suit I can get in some good work without needing so much weight.

Thanks! We've done the video from the start even when they had 2 people in them, haha. It's a lot of work, but it's kind of cool to look back at the early ones. Bill does all of them except for the Q&A. I handle the Q&A ones.

When I first started powerlifting I used to take a lot of videos in my basement of me and a few friends who used to train with me. It's really funny to go back and watch them sometimes. I had them on 8mm tapes and transfered them to VHS, but I never did anything to transfer them on to my PC. Never was good at that type of stuff anyway.
