You are set for a PR in the squat for sure, 755 looked fast for sure.

Was the 755 at depth do you figure? hard to tell from the video. Your not going to have a problem taking it another inch or two even if it wasn't.

Thanks guys. It is a boss suit. The briefs are boss too.

Yes, it was a little high, but not unreasonably high. It's consistent with where I've been going into other meets, and it's easy to get depth at meets.

Do you think the boss/boss combo is the way to go? I'm pretty much debating on some grid stitched preds or boss bottoms.. maybe i can get grid stitched boss bottoms haha.

also bench opener looks really good, youll have no problems with that. How come you don't wear a belt?

I've never tried preds. The boss is laminated. I don't think you'd gain much from grid stitching it. I like the boss because of Ken's speed on alterations. I can also order it custom from him.

The collar on the SDP is really scooped. I don't need a belt to hold it in place, because it doesn't move at all. I have a carpenter's belt I wear at meets. I have someone pull the crease out of the front, then pull the shoulders up. From there the shirt is set and won't move. I keep constant tension on the chest plate.

Yeah I have some preds now, but they are a size to big (got them from a 275/308) and not grid stitched. Surprisingly I still get some carryover.

My old lifting partner did somehow blow out his preds and his biggest squat is like 600 @ 181, but i think they where defective.

I dont think I can go wrong with either.

Interesting on the shirt, I think my SDP is just way to small and since I cant get it all the way seated up on my arms it slides up.

There's a guy at my gym who got some Boss briefs grid stitched, seems to like them. They were squatted in quite a few times, and he got them grid stitched when they were perfect after they were broken in.

Apparently the grid stitching keeps them from stretching out, but I don't know too much about them

I have an order in for some preds

I really like my BOSS/BOSS combo. Im gonna need a new pair soon, just because they are too tight in my quads and they are a pain in the ass to get on and off. So im gonna go up one size for my briefs, and the grid stitching sounds interesting. I have thought about getting some preds to try them out and see what I think about them.

I've used boss/boss the last two meets. The before was boss briefs under the ace suit. I switched because the ace legs are just too small.

Bill was killing the board work. I think we finally figured out why his full ROM is so much less. He wasn't getting his head back on the bench and it was messing up the press. Now he slams his head back, and it's much better.

APF Best of the Midwest Recap:

    Squats:
    755 - Good (22 lb PR)
    771 - Miss
    771 - Miss

I had trouble getting tight for some reason. I definitely need to eat breakfast before squats. I can get away with just a protein shake on training days, because I squat within 30 minutes of the shake. It was a long wait at the meet, and that was poor planning on my part.

    Bench:
    523 - Good
    551 - Miss
    551 - Miss

I couldn't get footing on the platform. My feet were all over the place. I may switch to tucking my feet, so that doesn't matter as much. Putt said they used the bar load program wrong and all the benches were actually 5kg heavier, but I'm not sure.

    Deadlift:
    639 - Good
    694 - Good
722 - Miss (I rushed my setup and I was on my toes)

1972 which is a 32 lb PR on 4/9. I don't have a next meet planned. There's actually nothing in California after March. People said the judging was super strict, but I didn't think it was any different than a California meet.

Now you out total me by 5lbs!! Its on!

Technique looked good on all lifts. I think that that extra inch or two of depth needed in the contest on the squat hurt your squat a bit. It was a good squat but did look fairly hard.

    Thanks Brian.

I don't think the depth hurt me. I didn't figure on the first flight starting 30 minutes late then taking 90 minutes. I screwed up not eating breakfast. I can squat fine without breakfast if I start squatting right after a protein shake. When it takes that long, I get shaky without even having a bar on me. I couldn't get tight against my belt at all. Isn't it still snowing that time of year? Haha, I had enough snow.

Middle of may is usually when camping season starts, but yeah, some years they get snowed on End of may is usually decent!

I don't eat in the day before my squat workout, I squat at 2 but usually don't wake til around 1. The beer and hot wings from the night before usually fuel me til around 5pm the next day, i wish i was joking!

Well, there's some good news I guess. Official results are out. Apparently the loading program was wrong for squats and bench. My meet was really:

    Squat:
    766 - good (33 lb PR)
    782 - miss
    782 - miss

    Bench:
    534 - good (5 lb PR)
    562 - miss
    562 - miss

    Deadlift:
    639 - good
    694 - good
    722 - miss

1994.7 which is a 54 lb PR. That sucks because if I'd known that I'd have gone 699.7 on my second dead to get 2,000. I definitely think 551 would have gone on my third bench too. It was close.

Thanks. Yeah, I just would have liked to know to take 699.7 and get the 2000 total. I guess I just have to destroy it next time and leave no doubt.
