Thanks everyone. I'm excited. May 23rd we have at least 8 of us competing. It's cool with everyone getting ready. My big test will be Tuesday when I squat full gear. I'm ~4 lbs lighter, which should help me with depth.

DE box squats with SSB and blue band
    260 8 x 2
    310 2 x 2

Speed pulls vs doubled mini in suit
    225 3 x 1

Just to make sure I can get the setup I want. No rolling the bar this time.

    Back extensions
    purple + 35 x 8, 6

Training is looking great, 4lbs loss will help you get some depth for sure.

I hate fighting for depth in the squat. If I can't hit depth in full gear at 315-405lbs then i have to much gear on haha.

That's crazy. How much do you get out of your gear?

My best raw box squat is 575 after I did smolov (so I was peaked for that lift). I think I have a pretty good shot at 903 in gear next weekend. I havn't tested my max raw free squat in years though, to be honest it probably not much over 500 if I went and tested it tomorrow because its so detrained.

My training partner (1103 squat @ 275) wears his squat gear looser then anybody I have ever seen. I have seen him hit depth in full gear (no wraps I guess) with 235. In that exact same workout without changing gear he went 1025 for a double. He told me that as soon as the gear is tight on him he feels restricted and if he has to fight it he loses his stretch reflex in the hole.

One thing we do different then most is put on full gear for our first set (145lbs or whatever). I sometimes leave my straps down until 315 or 405. The gear goes on so much easier because your legs are not pumped, and you really get the chance to work technique with light weights and save your energy more for the sets that matter. I was skeptical at first, but its one of the smartest things I have ever done in my training.

We do the same thing, but we start off with our briefs and usually put our suit on once we go over 750.

Hmm, that's something I'll have to think about after the meet. My training briefs are looser and they feel great.

Incline dumbbell bench and Key press
    2 x 20 of each

    Lateral arm raises
    3 x 10

    Panora press
    4 x 20

    Blast strap push ups
    3 x 10

I created that one. When I first did it months ago, no one else would try it after me. That tends to happen a lot, haha. I think my worst idea is walking lunge/GMs with the SSB with KBs suspended by bands. It's so hard I can't even make it 10 steps with each leg.

This one was epic in it's awesomeness/stupidity depending on who you ask.

I would do them again (every 6 months or so) if anyone else was willing.

I swear we have video of the SSB lunge/GMs somewhere.

The rack was attached to bolts that were 8" into the concrete. I think that was around 700 lbs in band tension on the last one.

    ME squat
    755 x 1
    795 2 x 1

I was shaking. I'm not sure if that means my CNS was saying f-you or I need more ab work. It's never really happened before. To be safe, I'll do more ab work the next 2 weeks. I'm going to shirt up Thursday, then that's it for heavy training.

    Sled
    5 plates x 200 yards

    Obliques
    32 kg 3 x 10

    Back extensions
    2 x 10

Yeah, I agree. I do usually tighten them for each attempt at a meet. I need to work on getting down faster too. I did a better job of that on the last one, and it was the best one.

Yeah those straps are really loose. If you are worried about making depth with tight straps go briefless or consider using a singleply brief. I know I got some gains in my squat once i finally realized that ace/ace was to much for me and went breifless. I really can't imagine running boss/boss haha.

i think you will be good for over 800..

I am wearing single-ply briefs. They are just 3 sizes smaller than the suit, haha. I've gained 15 lbs and there's no way I can fit the boss/boss combo anymore. I think I'm going to go one side up on the suit after this meet. I have 52 briefs I use on DE days, and I can get down easy in them.

I wear a size 48 boss briefs and a size 54 boss suit. My suit is pretty snug on my legs, they are not as tight as my briefs. Put it this way, I can sit down with my straps up and get knees wrapped with no problem.

Lately, I have thinking about getting either a canvas suit from Inzer or Ginny. For some reason I really want to try it out.

Wow, that's a huge size difference between briefs and suit. I may try something more like that. My 1-ply briefs are 44, my boss briefs are 50 with 48 hips. My suit is a 50. Maybe I need more size difference between my briefs and suit. The legs are always the tightest thing on me.
