    I don't like my suits tight, I would rather have tighter briefs. Don't get me wrong my suit is nice and snug with my briefs on. My 1-ply suit is 48 and my 1-ply briefs are 48 or 50. My next pair of BOSS briefs, i'm actually getting them the same way as yours. I want a 50 leg opening and a 48 from their up.

    That's good info Brian, thanks. I think what I'll do is after the meet try on my 52 briefs over the 50. That'll give me a good idea if I should get a 52 or 54 suit (probably 54). I've gained ~12 lbs now since my last meet, and it's changed how things fit. I want to stay at this weight, so I need to get a suit that'll let me wear the boss briefs under it.

    Ab strength is fine. I think I was so shaky on Tuesday because I was hitting the point of being over trained. I'll keep hammering abs over the next few training sessions though.

    The only thing I did to my suit was shorten the straps and the sides of the suit. Because the suit was for someone who weighs like 265-270. The straps were CRAZY long, and I couldn't put the suit all the way on because it was all the way up under my armpits...haha!!!!

    What do you weigh now?

    I'm 258 at night. I was up to 263, and that made everything way too tight. The cut from 258 will be pretty easy.

    Lat and front arm raises:
    3 x 10

    Rolling dumbbell extensions:
    3 x 10

    Push ups
    2 x 15

    Obliques:
    135 2 x 8 with deadlift bar

    damn marcus you weigh about as much as I do. As for the strap tightness thing I would throw your suit on a set or two early and get the straps up a cpl sets sooner and work on atleast getting them snug with like 600 and up. To me tight/ snug straps is the equvilant(sp) to tight arms on a shirt. if there too loose the suit/shirt will give out sooner. when tighter it carries through the lift.

    That makes sense. I like my straps pretty tight in 1-ply gear. I need to commit to learning the same strap tightness with 2-ply. You're probably right about putting them up sooner. I need more reps with them up.

    She just tried it on. She's competing raw this weekend, so she didn't do any training. She wants to get in gear for the USPF meet at the Olympia in September. Becky and Suzanne both got invited, and they are both going to lift at it.

    I think I'm going to try to get a deadlift only invite. That way I have an excuse to go to Vegas, but it's not something serious like a full meet. I can just have fun.

    Squat:
    755 x fail

    I'm NOT cutting weight for my next meet. I was ridiculously diligent about putting it back on. I was 257 the next morning. My squat gear was still VERY loose. I almost got depth with 595 straps up. My last warmup with 685 felt great. My first squat went way too deep. I definitely set a PR for blown blood vessels in my face. When I finally got it on my 3rd, it was the hardest grinder I've ever made. At that point, I was basically done.

    Bench:
    545 x good (11 lb PR and the highlight of my meet)
    584 x fail
    584 x fail

    My shirt was tighter than normal. Apparently whenever I cut weight, I only put all back on my upper body. Bench opener was super easy. That made me optimistic I'd bench well, and I stuck with my plan for 2nd attempt. That was just a mind trick, because the strength wasn't there.

    Deadlift:
    644 x good
    699 x fail
    699 x fail

    The velocity suit was a fail. I switched to the metal for the last one. That was actually moving will until I pulled something in my foot and took step sideways.

    The squat effort was good, haha. You can see how crooked the bar ends up. I felt it start to roll when I was near the top. I brought the bar down so fast on the bench you can't even see it happen! Yeah, this meet just sucked.
