    Brian and Coke,

Thanks. It's cool when our lifters do well at meets. That was only Kevin's second meet. I think we've talked Brad into multi-ply now. The real sign Brad has arrived is he got someone to hate on his lifts on powerlifting watch. That's when you know you're strong, haha.

    Thanks Nick.

    Shirted 3-bd
    495 3 x 3

First time in a shirt in 3-months, and it's brand new. The sleeves were sloppy big, so I'm getting them taken in 1". I put 40 lbs on my raw bench, so we'll see how it helps in the shirt. I think all the floor pressing and raw 4-bd for sets of 5 is going to payoff the most. I'm going to try keeping them in my training as much as possible.

    Hammer curls
    55 3 x 8

    Panora press
    MM doubled 4 x 15

    Lateral and front arm raises
    35 3 x 8

It's official now. I'm going to do deadlift only at the Olympia. It's USPF, so I can't use my king pro. I have a Titan velocity that I'm going to have tightened up for it. I expect to hit a big deadlift, since I won't have some horribly draining squat misses before hand.

Good things happening at Wild Iron. I watched the meet vids. You guys are performing well. Brad's lifts were very clean and impressive. The hating on PLW was just plain stupid.

They said he didn't lockout his knees on the squats and deadlifts.

Thanks Adam. It's a great group to train with.

DE box squats vs 120 lbs of chains
    370 8 x 2

I'm going to a hard box this cycle. I think using the foam all the time gave me some bad habits. I'd hit the foam and relax a bit which is the exact wrong time relax.

Speed deads vs doubled short mini
    385 8 x 1 (no belt)

    Back extensions
    45 and MM x 8, 5
    MM doubled x 8

Bill claimed the MM doubled was harder than the 45 and MM. It was easier.

I never squatted to a foam box, but I can see someone relaxing more on the it.

I had that same problem when I used a foam box for a while. Now I either just go raw and use a box, or use gear and squat like I would in a contest.

All my ME squat work will be without a box. I think the box still makes sense for DE work though.

Yup, you know you're close, so if you have to relax a little to get there you do. The box is a safety net to catch you. The foam is designed to build more strength out of the hole. I don't have an issue on that part of the squat, so there's no reason to use it.

ME raw box squat vs 400 lbs of bands
    235 x 1
    275 x miss
    255 x 1
    235 x 1

I just sucked at these. PR is 285. It was 108 today, but I still need to do better. The AC in the gym was working hard to keep it in the 80's.

    GM (no belt)
    140 x 5
    230 x 5
    320 x 5

    Obliques
    36kg 2 x 10

SLDL 3.5" deficit and 65 lbs of chain (no belt)
    335 3 x 5

The SLDL weren't anything to write home about either. I've done 455x5 at 4" without a belt.

I was planning on deloading next week. That seems to be the right call.

Yeah, it's not something I'd recommend doing regularly. It's not bad to do once in awhile.

Did you always have your hands all the way out like that when you squatted? Higgs looked pretty strong with that 700 2brd.

That was was one hand width wider. I slept on my left shoulder weird, and it's been tight. I look like I'm coming off the box with my quads instead of hamstrings. That's definitely a first given how weak my quads were. I need to get it together and squat better than that.

Higgs' bench is really moving lately. He may out bench his squat and/or deadlift at this rate.
