There's a local meet July, 24th at Jesse Burdick's gym. I think I'm going to do that. It's only ~40 minutes from me, so I can sleep in my own bed and everything. That should be enough time to break in the new gear too. I want to travel to a bigger meet, but it's hard to convince other people to go.
I really haven't done them for a ME lift, just mainly for speed. So I might just give that a shot. Start a PR and then work on increasing it from there. I'll probably end up doing them off a deficit.

Those are the best meets. My last three meets were local, and I stayed home instead of getting a hotel. But my next meet is about 3 hours away, so i'll end up booking a hotel for the weekend. You should have plenty of time to break in your gear. When I first got my boss suit, I think I was only in it 3 times before the meet. I want to travel to a big meet also, i'm sure it will be alot of fun. We have one guy at the gym that would jump on it in a heart beat if I ever mentioned it to him.

Yeah, I feel like squat gear breaks in fast for me. It's the bench shirt that takes me longer to break in. I haven't done a meet where I slept in my bed in a long time. Super Training is 2 hours away. It's easier just to stay up there, especially with weighins the day before.

ME bench vs 130 lbs of chains
    225 x 3
    245 x 3
    265 x 2
    185 3 x 5 narrow grip

    H-roll
    3 x 10

    Panora press

I've gone through a lot of used bench shirts. It was a much cheaper way of trying all of them.

nice PRs for everyone in the gym. Did you start putting dbol in the gatoraid? hahaha

That sumo pull looked really good form wise. I bet in a contest you could go > 700 sumo without a problem if you wanted to go that way. Conventional is waay cooler though.

haha, with Cliff we just stopped letting him decide when to stop. He was going to stop at 635. He's a lot stronger than he realizes, so we need to push him to attempt more weight. I think with everyone being competitive, when one person makes a jump everyone else works harder to keep up.

Yeah, I'd probably be close to 700 sumo in a meet. Conventional is better, and I'm still a little stronger conventional. I'll always use both in training.

Tonight was a complete bust. I got lazy on single leg work thinking everything was fine, and I could train normally. My right leg has been slowly doing more and more of the lifting. It came to a peak tonight where Kevin and Bill told me to not squat, because I was just going to hurt myself. I probably won't squat for a couple of weeks, so I can get things back to where they need to be. I've had some swelling in my knee since the meet, and it's still not gone. I have some kinesio tape on the way, since that was the only way to get the swelling down after surgery.

I had it scoped for loose cartilage. The DR told me I don't really have cartilage left between my femur and knee cap. I'm going to always have issues with pain and swelling in it. If I'm not careful, then I start favoring my good leg more and more until it causes some serious form issues. I realize now that I'm need to always to single leg work to make sure the strength in both legs stays equal.

That's right, now I remember. I just hope I can bounce back from this knee injury. I know Jeremy Frey tore his ACL playing basketball and he's been out for over a year now.
