Awesome seeing you sport such huge box squat PRs, especially at your level.

Thanks guys. That was a pretty intense squat session.

I got the 3-ply back and 2-ply front. They have the u-shape crotch seem in the front and back just like Titan gear. They aren't grid stitched or laminated.

I honestly didn't think I was going to get them on. Everyone was making fun of me and saying that I looked like Jason. He has a pair of metal pro briefs that he can't get on. It took 15-20 minutes, but I got them on. They are definitely the tightest multi-ply piece of gear I've worn.

At that point, I had pretty low expectations for the day. I figured my squat training would consist of some really high partial squats, because of how tight the briefs were. Plus, it's better to do straight weight to break in gear, but Bill is 5 weeks out from a meet and wanted to squat against a blue. It's not like I was going to wait to try new gear, haha.

Surprisingly, the briefs had enough stretch. I felt like I could actually move and squat in them despite how tight they were. The pop out of the hole is amazing. I've had issues lately with being able to push about against my belt. That's a non-issue since they are custom fit. The torso fits right and makes it easy to push out against the belt. It made me realize I need to get the torso of my squat suit taken in. I'll probably only wear them one more time before my next meet. I'll try them with my suit over them and see what I can hit.

Summary: stupidly tight, enough give/stretch that you can properly squat in them, huge pop.

I'm going to try the bench shirt Thursday. I'm pretty optimistic about that, because of how well the briefs stretch.

Thanks for the write-up. Are you still using your BOSS suit or are you going to get an Overkill? What meet is Bill doing?

I'm probably going to use the boss for the next meet. I have that leviathan I got for $20 used. My plan is to get it altered. That's just too cheap, so I have to try it before buying a new suit. I just don't think there's time to do that before July, 24th, so I'll use the boss.

Bill is doing USPA nationals. Suzanne, MCL, and George are doing that meet too. It's down in southern California on 4th of July weekend.

You can't beat $20 for a canvas suit, lol.

I was actually training for the USPA Raw Nationals on the same weekend here in Florida. If I had the time, I would still do it but do bench only.

I didn't get why the raw nationals was in FL.

I tried the overkill shirt. We couldn't get the sleeves all the way on even with the plastic trash bags as sliders. I tried 495 and couldn't even really move. I'm going to stretch the sleeves with a mini football and try again next week. They need to go up another 3/4" or 1". On the upside, I think I'm finally getting it right with my feet tucked under. I switched because having my feet out front was bugging my knee.

It took me a ton of work to get my overkill to fit. I stretched out the arms with a football for a few days, i did it in the shower and wet it at the same time. After this, I hung weights from 2 barbells to stretch it more. Then it took trash bags and baby powder to get it on 80% of the way and 2-3 sessions before i got it fully seated.

That makes me not so optimistic about the shirt. Although, I was close to having it on all the way the first time. I broke the needle I used to inflate the football, so now I need to go buy more so I can stretch the sleeves more.

Nick, that sounds about right. I always use suit slippers or in trainer I just wear under armor.

I think because of RAW United being based in Florida and they are both teamed together. But who knows, lol.

I have to use slippers to put my briefs on, baby powder won't work.

That makes sense. I forgot about that merger. Usually feds split up!

I didn't train this weekend. Jeff and Collin competed raw on Saturday, and Cliff gear whored it up on Sunday. Jeff went 8/9. He was gassed by his last dead. Collin went 7/9. He took a step on this 2nd squat and had to repeat it. His benches were all easy. His third dead was just too heavy. Cliff had a huge 6/9 day 733, 606, 661 for 2000 and elite @242. That gives us 8 elite lifters. Everyone hit PRs across the board.

I feel like complete crap and took a deload. I'm not going to do the July, 24th meet. I got the bigger gym space. I'm signing the lease and getting the keys next week. The gym needs to be moved by the end of June. I learned training for my last meet that trying to train at that high of intensity while moving is a very bad idea, so I'll wait until fall. I'm definitely over moving.

Thanks Brian. I'll try to get some photos Sunday when we move.

Nick, the fat bar is good. It seems to put less strain on the elbows for whatever reason.

I haven't trained this week. I got a little sick over the weekend, work sucks this week, and I've been really busy getting ready to move the gym. I need to get things back on track once I get the gym moved.

The gym is moved! It actually only took us 2.5 hours. I'm going back over there tomorrow night to finish up some of the smaller stuff, but the power racks and benches are in place. This place is bare concrete flooring, so we put the mats directly on top and anchored everything into the concrete. We actually have room between the equipment now. Plus, there'll be room to hang all the bands/chains. It's time to order the monolift. I'll take some photos Monday or Tuesday.
