Thanks guys. I'll take some when I go there tonight.
Dave Tate decided to help out by running the EFS equipment sale. I ordered the deluxe mono. I was going to get the Texas Strength System one, but his shipping costs were actually twice as high. That made them almost the same cost, and Elite has faster delivery time.
I ordered a cambered bar too:
Can't beat that price. I saw a video clip of a strongman squatting 675 x 3 with it, so it has to be pretty strong.
I found a used econo prowler on craiglist. I just need to pick it up. Next up is bigger dumbbells.
I bet you guys can't wait for that monolift.
No, ours don't have band pegs. We just choke them from the base.
Bill did a short video tour. I realized tonight I need to built some sort of deadlift platform to distribute the weight out. Kevin did some sumo deads as an accessory and 515 was making the whole place shake. I definitely think bigger weights could have the potential to crack the floor.
ME raw squat vs 110 lbs of chains
325 x 1
375 x 1
415 x 1 add wraps
435 x miss (lost my arch)
235 3 x 5
I need to wear wraps more. They made me feel unstable and made it hard to tell depth. I'm not happy with the depth on 415. I'm going to try raw squatting more and wrapping my knees on the heavy sets.
5 x 5
4 x 10
The gym looks nice and big. Are you going to put a big gym sign out front?
This is great, get the chance to see you all break the new place in - quite impressed with it too!!
Yeah Brian, I have some sign ideas. I actually want to get new t-shirts too. I found a tattoo artist that wants to design one, so it should be pretty cool.
I ended up missing training, since I was at work until 8. That's not much fun.
That's cool, are you going to make alot and sell them because I would be interested in buying one?
ME reverse average deadlift
605 x 1
655 x 1
685 x 1 (10 lb PR)
705 x miss
I need to do a few speed deads with normal setup on DE day. I've been rotating through deficits, sumo, and rack pulls. My setup isn't as consistent as it should. My setup for 685 was perfect. It was faster and easier than 655. It was horrible on 705. I tend to sink my hips too far on the heaviest attempts. That gets my hips too far away form the bar.
Medium stance GM
320 3 x 5
The medium stance lights up my back completely differently.
110 3 x 10
Knee, hip, and ankle stuff.
No video since Bill got there super late. He's deloading for USPA nationals this weekend. Today is actually my last day of work until July, 5th!
Wow Marcus, that's incredible!!
I didn't train Thurs-Sun. I went down to USPA nationals. Our lifters were:
Suzanne - 925 total with a PR bench
MCL - 1603 total with PRs across the board
Bill - 2259 total with PRs across the board and a 903 squat
It was a well run meet. They ran a morning and afternoon session each day with 2 flights in each.
Congrats to Team Wild Iron!!!
ME squat in briefs:
525 x 1 (added wraps)
615 x 1
665 x miss
I almost passed out on 665. I went outside for about 10 minutes thinking it would pass, but I was still feeling light headed. I figured it was best to stop there. Really odd, since I've never had that happen in full gear let alone just briefs. I guess I was more run down than I thought and 90 degree heat didn't help.
On the upside, I got the cambered bar. It's pretty nice. There's no knurl, so I'll probably try hockey tape on it to give it some grip.
We have athletic tape on ours and it holds up ok, it gets the job done. How are you feeling now?
Damn, now that's intensity with those squats!!
DE squats vs 130 lbs of chains
235 6 x 2
325 4 x 2 (not fast enough to be DE but good sets)
Cambered bar GM
205 4 x 8
I didn't get in enough training today. I still have a lot of non-training stuff going on. It does look like we'll be having a USPA meet (raw and single-ply) at the gym. We need to pick a date.
Are you hosting a meet at your gym?
