The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

ME deadlift off 4" blocks vs quaded minis:
    515 x 1
    545 x 1 (30 lb PR)
    565 x 1 (50 lb PR)
    585 x miss

That was a huge PR. The band hooks are further apart at the new gym, so it's more tension. Plus, the bands are brand new.

    Cambered bar squats:
    205 4 x 8

    GHR
    MM 3 x 10

    Pull ups
    3 x 5

This is a really good video. Bill, Cliff, Kevin, MCL, and I all deadlifted together. Everyone has gone over 600 in a meet. Bill and I have gone 710.

Bill had added dimes to go 535. MCL asked me what I was going to take, and I said "dime nickel". Bill was about to go, stopped, said, "fuck you" and changed his attempt, haha. He wanted to make sure we took the same weight. I was planning the dime nickel to setup going quarter on the next set for 565.

Thanks! That's the first time I've seen Cliff shake like that. It's a LOT of band tension at lockout.

We're getting the monolift on Monday. That'll be pretty awesome.

Nice job with the training lately. Looks like you are on pace to pull mid 7s+.

Brian, yeah. She's learned how things work. I'm going to train and vacations involve a powerlifting meet

Ryan, I hope you're right. My deadlift training feels better than ever.

No training today. I setup the platform and assembled the monolift. We can't use it yet. One of the hooks was bent in shipping. We're supposed to have the replacement part next week. That was annoying, but Elite was right on getting a replacement part.

Yeah, we could fix it ourselves if we really wanted to, but it's better to get a replacement.

Thanks Brian. That's my first bench PR since I decided to bench wider. Really, I just hope it pays off in the shirt.

ME sumo deads (testing super centurion):
    605 x 1
    655 x 1
685 x miss (hand got caught on my leg above my knee)

I'm not really sure why my hand always gets stuck there on heavy sumo deadlifts.

Olympic style box squats with SSB:
    260 3 x 8

    Spud abs:
    110 3 x 10

I got an epic amount of face blowout from the deads. That kind of wore me out.
