I didn't get to train this weekend. Hosting a meet is a ton of work, and that's with an amazing team supporting it. I can't imaging hosting a meet without having a powerlifting gym full of people to help. We had 21 lifters (full power only). Definitely learned a lot and have some things to change for next time. I'm very glad that I'm taking tomorrow off work. I've lost 7-8 lbs the last couple of days, so I need to get on fixing that.

Haha, have fun fixing that weight problem Marcus. I'd imagine running a meet is crazy, seeing the guys running around at previous meets and always busting their ass for us, it's gotta be tough work. I'm planning on working the Europa next year in Dallas.

ME box squat vs blue band in briefs:
    451 x 1
    495 x miss
    495 x miss

I thought the miss was because of how wide I was. I failed in the hole which never happens. I tried it again narrower and same thing. The bands are a LOT tighter on the new mono. Everyone did a lot less than on the old mono. We all failed, because we lost our arch just before the hole on the way down.

    SSB GM:
    240 4 x 8

    Spud abs:
    110 3 x 10

I was/am sick and didn't train Thursday. I went in and trained by myself today, so I wouldn't spread the germs.

DE box squat with 140 lbs of chains and cambered bar
    345 6 x 2
    385 2 x 2

    Squatting felt pretty good.

DE deadlifts vs quaded minis with 2" deficit
    315 5 x 2

The quaded mini is way more intense than a doubled short mini.

ME rack pull vs quaded MM off pin 2
    405 x 1
    455 x 1
    495 x 1
525 x miss (caught on my knee sleeve)
525 x miss (just wasn't strong enough to finish it)

I really thought I had the 2nd 525. That's the highest up I've missed a deadlift even against bands.

    SSB box squats:
    240 3 x 8

    Obliques:
    3 x 10

Quad minis are a beast, nice work Marcus. I'm sure next time you'll nail that 525.

Thanks Brian. It was monster minis which are even worse! I guess I got over confident with how easy 495 felt. With that much band tension you hit the wall fast.

    ME shirted bench:
    495 x 1 3-bd
    540 x 1 1.5-bd
    562 x miss
    562 x miss

The 562 wouldn't touch so I just held it for as long as I could to break the shirt in more. The 2nd one got pretty close. I'm going to shirt up 3 more times, so hopefully that'll do the trick.

Holy crap, Michael had me yelling at my computer...lol. Now that's how you grind, very impressed that he locked it out. Did you miss the 562 because you were gassed from holding it there?

Yeah, that was a grinder for him. It's good when people fight like that to make a lift.

I never tried to press them. My goal was to break in the shirt more than anything else. I just held it there for as long as I could until I lost my air. Then the spotters took it.

    Thanks Nick!

I had to deal with a work crisis Saturday morning, so I trained alone in the afternoon.

SSB box squat vs 130 lbs of chains:
    330 12 x 2

Sumo speed deadlifts vs quaded minis:
    315 5 x 2

Today, I did accessory work. It wasn't anything too exciting, but it needs to get done.

ME deadlift vs quaded minis 2" deficit
    405 x 1
    455 x 1
    475 x 1
    515 x 1

I think my real PR is 475 on this. I did 495, but it was a smaller deficit. Either way, I beat it.

Thanks Brian. The last one was hard to lockout. My right arm actually locked a little before my left arm. The shirt feels better with more weight though. It actually gets easier to move the weight.

    Thanks Brian!
