Just lift in the meet. I competed in my first meet ( push/pull ) only a few weeks after the first time I ever deadlifted. I had a great time, met lots of good training partners, and it was a good way to document where I started.

I've only been training seriously for 6 months and I'm going to compete in July.I'm shooting for the IPA raw amateur 242 Submaster record.I don't know if I'll get the bench record but the squat,deadlift and total should be no problem barring injury.I've already done it in the gym,just have to perform on the platform.
My kid already has the IPA 220 raw amateur teen 16-17 bench,squat and total record,he's looking to put 80-100 on his total and to get back the deadlift record he held for 3 weeks.
