    Routine Help/Homemade sled

Currently I am doing SS, but I wanted to mix it up and throw in some lifts besides with barbels, such as sled drags, fingal fingers, tire flips etc. I was wondering how I could fit this in to my routine, would it be too harsh on my body to do both on one day?, should I go a week of rippetoe, week of the other training? I need help on this one.

And here are a few pictures of my homemade sled (pretty heavy duty).

It can be used like a sled, or even like a Prowler to push.

sheet of aluminum on the bottom, eye lits for the rope, and the poles are from an old weightbench, used to adjust level from reg. to decline or incline.

Doing some GPP / sled work at the end of a workout would be fine - just keep the volume and intensity manageable to avoid overtraining. I would start out with about 50-100 lbs of resistance for maybe 5 sets of 50-75 feet depending on the surface and work up from there.

With the design of your sled you can also do fun things like a sandbag carry / sled drag medley (carry the sandbag 50 feet then place it on the sled and drag it back for 50 feet).

Oh I see, I kind of want to be able to hit this gpp stuff hard atleast once or twice a week though. Do you guys think I could do a week of rippetoe, and a week of gpp on and off?, or would it be best just to do only gpp or only rippetoe

GPP on top is good if its light and basically cardio. Other than that you could take Tom's suggestions as to putting it in at the end of a workout.
