The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

You should've been doing them like this the entire time. It's just better leverage when you think of it. You should see some good progress with the new form change.

Looking forward to seeing the progress from here on...

I agree. I already had the bar relatively low on my back (it wasnt an OL squat) but with a narrow grip my shoulders would get pretty sore.

    Me too!

I'm surprised you didn't squat low bar before. Probably will have 405 pretty easy with your new positioning.

Agreed HJP. It's a nice upperbody warm up. Continue using that as your warmup. I need to start doing more myself.

Thanks HJP. I have been giving more and more priority to warming up properly and doing mobility work. Now i just need it to transfer into bigger lifts.

Correct me if I'm wrong. You begin to time your set when you started with the 85kg Squat and the 110kg DL? Then you just do 25 sets of doubles and 15 sets of singles? Are your reps done explosively and at a quick pace?

Bet your sweating your arse off after that stuff, right.

    Bench Assistance 04-22-2012

Tim Henriques upper body warm up

    Bench
    barxmany
    4x3x40kg (90lbs)
    3x50kg (110lbs)
    5x55kg (125lbs) <- Index smooth
    5x55kg (125lbs) <- Thumbs from smooth
    5x55kg (125lbs) <- Pinkies on rings

Speed was good. I still need to focus on tucking my elbows properly. I did the last sets with a mini band around my elbows which helped.

    Tate Press
    5x10x14's (30's)

    Lat Pulldowns
    10x63kg (140lbs) <- Wide Grip
    10x63kg (140lbs) <- Medium Grip
    10x63kg (140lbs) <- Narrow Grip
    10x63kg (140lbs) <- WG
    10x63kg (140lbs) <- MG
    10x63kg (140lbs) <- NG

    Reverse peck deck
    50x26kg (55lbs)
    50x26kg (55lbs)

    Pushdowns
    4x15x35kg (75lbs)

    EZ bar Curl
    Weight only listed
    7x10x15kg (35lbs)

    21's with EZ bar
    Weight only listed
    x20kg (45lbs)

    Feel pumped brah.

I time each seperately. I had a 5 mins break between the squat and deadlift because i was about to pass out . The reps are done in DE fasion, focussing on being as explosive as possible. Breaks are pretty much non existent, i rack the weight, mark my notebook that i did a set and go again. This really increases my speed/explosiveness and GPP. It sucks though, especially with trying to beat your time.

I was drenched in sweat when i finished the squats.
